I have a 2012 Apex Motor/California Custom Trike that I received from the shipper in nonworking condition.  They engine has a defect that leaks out substanial amount of oil when you start it up. I had to have the trike put onto a flatbed tow truck and towed to my house. I have made numerous attempts to have California Custom Trikes, owners Greg and Teri Beckman to fix this problem.  I have had numerous text messages, emails and conversations on the phone and the last call was January 10, 2013 where Teri herself told me that Greg refuses to pay for the shipping of my trike back to their place of business in AZ to have the engine replaced. I asked them to have someone here fix the problem and they refuse to pay for it to be fixed.  I paid them in full for the trike and accessories on August 24, 2012 in which I did not recieve the trike until October 15, 2012 without one of the accessories and with the engine gushing oil out everywhere.  I do have pictures of the trike and the condition I received it in.  On October 17, 2012, they sent a part that they thought was the problem and requested my boyfriend and I to replace it.  We spent 10 hrs working on it only to have the clutch not work.  It wasn't until the end of November 2012 that the owner of A&G's Automotive and Transmission (in which Teri Beckman chose for me to call to fix the clutch) came to my house on 2 different occasions trying to find what the problem was.  It was later discovered that the clutch was bent, so again they sent out the part and my boyfriend and I again had to replace a clutch.  I have receipts where I shipped both defective parts back to them. After we repaired the clutch, it was running, (Yeah) then within 5 minutes of warming up, the engine started gushing oil out of it again.  At this point I have yet to ride it.

Teri paid for the trike to be towed to A&G's.  That was December 4, 2012.  Grant waited for Teri Beckman to call him to give her ok to work on the trike.  She finally called him on December 5, 2012 and he began to work on it.  I finally for the first time rode my trike on December 6, 2012 at which time still have 17.8 miles in which was the reading when I received October 15th.  I was able to ride it for 9 days, put 77 miles on it and the trike started gushing out oil again.  This was December 14, 2012 and again I had to pay for a flatbed tow truck to tow it Keesey's Service Center due A&G Automotive & Transmission being out of the country for a week. John with Keesey's Service spoke to Teri and Greg Beckman on a few occasions where they asked John to give an estimate on how much to fix it, they didn't like that. Then they asked him how much to pull the engine and have it shipped back to them and for them to put the new engine back in.  Greg Beckman did not like that idea either.  It sat in storage at Keesey's waiting for Teri or Greg Beckman to get back to them for 30 days and would not release it until the storage fees were paid on it.  I had to pay for the storage of my trike for 30 days at $50/day.

Now my trike is sitting in my yard in nonworking condition and waiting to be fixed. I would pay to have it fixed but don't want to create a problem in doing so.  I want them to fix my trike to its new condition as it should have been and also I want a check for the Luggage Strap that they have not sent to me either.  That was $250.

I filed a compaint with BBB and California Custom Trikes didn't even respond so that is closed.  They should also be investigated for fraud.  Offering product without honoring their warranty, 6 months or 6,000 miles.  They are letting this warranty to run out.  It was received in this condition and to pay and have it fixed.
