Upon enrolling at the University of phoenix I was told that I qualified for a third year student and that I would have the credits from prior schooling that I needed to qualify for this position so that I would also qualify for more funds.  The university wouldn't let me wait to see how I qualified, but told me I had to enroll before hand reassuring me that I the academic counselor knew what he was talking about and that he deals with these situations on a daily basis.  So the academic counselor pre-qualified me for third year student. I wasn't informed of the fact that I didn't qualify as a third year student until I was in my second class.  So I contacted the financial counselor with whom I had never spoke to before, to see what I could do to get re qualified.  There was a laundry list of things I needed to now provide and extra classes and tests that i was to take and to top it off the first class that they had me take was an unnecessary class.  They had filed appeal after appeal to get my situation straighten out and I continued to be denied.  After emailing my academic counselor on several occasions with no response, I find out I have been assigned a new counselor.  That counselor isn't even in my city..or my state.  She talks to me one time reassuring me we can work this all out and then she stops calling me or returning my calls and emails.  The enrollment process is unethical and misleading.  They need to tell yu all the facts before you enroll not after.  I have dealt with 4 academic counselors in 6 months and each time they continue to reassure me that it will work out by appealing and the appeals one by one are getting denied and in the mean time I am getting further in debt and closer to the funds running out so I won't be able to finish.  UoP speaks of ethics, they speak of it, they don't live it.  I am willing to be a part of a suit.  They shouldn't be able to get away with what they are doing.
