Apx Alarm Employee Speaks Out TOTAL RIP OFF! Provo Utah

I worked for APX Alarm for quite a while, I made a decent amount doing it, but I want to warn you of the tactics they use everyday. after I was terminated for not going into a for lack of better words "ghetto" neighborhood after 9pm to start an install I was fired.

At this time I was the lead installing technician, not to be determined the boss by any means... I asked the boss to call the customer to make sure it was ok, and of course it was not, especially since the install was going to take over 2 hours.

Let me fill you in on a "secret" they send these mormon kids out to sell their systems because they know how to not take no for an answer first off.... they describe themselves as working through college, when most have 2 houses paid off. from the money they make no less..... they say they arent selling anything, just doing advertising... read the paper they are selling a contract DONT SIGN IT.... they say they dont need your social because they are qualifying you... THEY ARE RUNNING YOUR CREDIT WITHOUT IT!!!!! They charge over 20 more a month than ADT or other REPUTABLE alarm companies, and they have it installed same day so that you have less time to change your mind.... IF you do change your mind in the 3 days you have they will send the "LEAD TECH" out to your home to remove the system... These people wont even patch the holes left in your walls or doors from the bits used to drill and hide the wires for the Panel.... so now you are out about the same for 4 months bills in repairs to your home because you cancelled... This company is a rip off and I do not suggest anyone buying or working for them EVER!!!! if you are considering working for them here is the payscale as a technician as inticing as it is, you wont get it: 100 installs (easy to get) $ 65 per install 150 installs (still easy) $75 per install 180 installs (not so easy) $85 per install + 1800 rent 200 a month guaranteed cell phone bonus

BUT they clean your office out midway through so that only one Tech makes money any you can guess who that is... they let the lead man make it!!!!

I was first year tech out of the Rexburg Idaho Office for the 08 season. I worked Charleston SC, Winston Salem NC, Columbia SC and did and extended season in Charleston WV. Just as it says in the first rebuttle, why complain now? It seams to me you are a young kid that lives at home with mom and dad took the summer job to make some money, you didnt do wut they asked and then got booted. Now your angry because your sitting on your a*s making 8 bucks an hour at your local autozone. APX is just like any other company. They need to get their product out. They dont employ any sneak attacks or dirty tactics. A young white kid in school will knock on your door and try and sell his a*s off, yea he is getting paid. Isnt that what makes the world go round? They charge more than other companies because you are paying for the service. All the equipment is almost the same as the other companies but the service is way above par. You may hear some negative things about the company, people mad about the contract and this and that. Read it. Its basic. It says how much you pay when you pay it and for how long. Its the stupidest of complaints that tarnish this companies reputation. I read things such as < I didnt read the contract and now im paying for an alarm.??? Duh dont sign somthing you dont read. just like a car loan or cell phone. or this one was good. Everytime my alarm goes off (because of owner error such as opening a dorr before disarming) my phone line isnt usable... This Is called Line Siezure. Imagine you have a teenage daughter talking at 2 am on the hpone and someone breaks in, she on the pone so the alarm cant call out to notify police. We sieze the line so that in the case the alarm goes off the phone is dedicated to send a signal.

Bottom line is im tired of ignorant ppl getting upset over things that are 100% user error as in this guys case. Ghetto area? at 9? How old are you? Its not a hard job and for anyone looking for a great career hit apx up. Im going this year and every year. I was a 1st year tech i made 32000 in 5 months being there and i did 351 installs. i sold 8200 in upgrades and made 4 sales as a tech. I also did so well that after just 2 months they didnt make me pay rent anymore. The company takes care of its employees and customers bottom line. Dont blemish my companies rep because your an idiot. The alarms work I have been on service calls when i forgot to put the system on test and tripped the alarm. APX calls then the police come. I have had to stand in the yard waiting for the fire truck and police car to show.

Is there a contract to sign? yes there are different ones depending on your credit.
Is the equipment free? yes you pay and activation fee of 99 bucks and your first months bill. everything is free and you have free moves, and servicing is free.

Do the salesmen get paid? Yes a s**t load but why does that matter? tell me why?

Do they pray on the elderly? No they dont know whos door they are knocking on

Does the alarm work? Yes usually after alarm is tripped it takes about 8-15 second before you recieve a call.

Im a tech so I dont give a s**t whether you buy it or not i get paid anyway im not commission so I dont have a reason to lie. This summer if a rep knocks on your door read the contract check it out. As a matter of fact Im going to see if I cant scan the contract onto here so as to make all the idiots that sign and complained about shut up. Dont bad mouth my company. If you dont wanna make money then keep working for minimum wage. if you wanna talk about APX summer teching give me a TEXT as im putting an office together for 09. 972 658 4122

apx alarm

so maybe you can answer a question for me my husband and i signed up for apx we never signed a contract and was told that because were military that we fall under the military clause aslong as we move but yet they keep giving me the run around about canceling my contract now that we are moving. are you aware of the military clause and if you are to your knowledge what is that cancelation clause. if not thanks for taking the time to read this

I have to say that if you are going in as a Tech III you can pretty much expect what they say, they will give you a gas card for your fuel, they will take care of you, you are going in as a permanent employee of the company as I was a contracted employee. either way, be a little cautious with them still, but I dont think you have much to worry about as far as that is concerned.

why now you ask... because I simply want people to get informed and not get tied up in that company. and as far as money being made, you apparently work for the company so you understand that you only get $50 up front on your installs, the rest goes on a backend check. my office wasnt exactly a good office, I was having to drive 2 hours to where the reps were selling, so I could install. there were many weeks that after I only got 6 installs which was definitely the norm for our office, that comes to $300, then you take taxes out of that, then take off the $100 for rent each week for the apartments, then the $16 for utilities per week, and my check was $90 to eat and buy gas on for the week. I was losing $70 a week, but was holding out for my back end check which would have been pretty decent. and what do they do? get rid of me, and over half of my office. yes I am pissed about it, because if you get fired or quit you do NOT recieve your back end check. they keep the money that you worked for, not to mention suffered through with the expectation of getting it. I dont want any one else to go through what I did, my morals are not in question here, I was there to do a job, and I did the job that I was told to do to the best of my ability I was the only licensed technician in our office! simply because FL has a law that says you can work 90 days without a license, then they brought in more people and cleared out our office, they were working to not have to get licensed in my opinion.

Why are you exposing the company now?

So you worked for the company and made all this money, right? But now they fired you and you're good and mad. Suddenly, they're this immoral company that screws people around? You are just as bad apparently since you did not leave the company over some crisis of conscience but rather were tossed out for not doing the work you were told to do.
