I was duped into buying from APX alarm systems.I was home when a young lady came by for the THIRD time in two months. After three times I figured why not talk to them maybe they will have something I want to hear. I was then led to believe that several of my neighbors were getting this service installed in their homes, which a quick ride around my neighborhood shows..not true.I was shown told of crime rates that I found later to be faulty..another lie. I was even told about a family down the street that was held at gunpoint. I cannot say definitely a lie but after reading other reports of people saying the exact same thing as me I'll go ahead and say it ANOTHER LIE. The young woman who sold me the system told me if I move the alarm goes with me to the next house and If I am unsatisfied, I can cancel at any time. What she failed to inform me was that anytime only meant within three days mandated by law. After I realized that there were only alarms on my three doors, I wanted to cancel. Me being military, I am trained to enter houses for various reasons, and not too often is the front door used. If you want in a home you hit the weak points like windows and weak walls. So I called APX to cancel, and was told I have to find someone else to take the alarm contract over or pay the rest of the contract off. which is pointless. Does anyone know of any legal loopholes to get me out of this contract? or a lawyer that will work for this? I am a student and a soldier and times are hard and money is tight. A little help?
