I have read so many complaints on here regarding Transouth and Arcadia Financial. Hell, I've even written a few myself! I have a story for you though and I am not joking about any of this!

I financed a 2000 Dodge Neon through Arcaid Financial/Transouth. I kept the car for nearly three years and I finally, just a month ago, traded it in for a newer car. I obtained my financing through a local credit union thank God! I was forced to send Arcadia a cease and desist letter some months back because they continually harassed me at work and at home by calling me day and night. At first, they refused to acknowledge my demand, but after I threatened to sue them, they finally quit calling me. I was able to get caught up on my payments and life went on as usual.

Well, when I traded my old car in, I was jumping for JOY that the financing was no longer through them! They have been such an awful company to do business with! To my dismay, I received a phone call late last week from Arcadia stating they hadn't been paid for the car yet and I was still wracking up the late fees and interest. The lady was nice enough (even though they were no supposed to be calling me!) so I gave her the name of the dealership, the finance manager there and the bank information to the credit union.

Today, I get another call. I was away from my desk, so I called them back when I returned. I was transferred to my so called "account manager" named Clora Bradely at Ext 49209. She was just as rude, spiteful and b*tchy as enyone else I had talked to. She was speaking ebonics I think because she "axed me". LOL So, we get into an argument over who's paying them. I explained that I didn't have the car and she LIES and says she'll have the repo department go pick it up from the dealership tomorrow. I later found it hadn't even been assigned for repo because the account was only 44 days past due! It's against the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act for a creditor to threaten to take property (such as a car) before they have the paperwork filed. She also stated they had a "representative" come by my home!

So they are now sending collection agents directly to your front door everyone! They violated the cease and desist order by calling me at work, and then sent someone to my home? Come on! Clora also stated "You have to do what I say! I CONTROL your account, not you! I am in charge here! I don't have to call anyone! This is just a courteousy to let you know......" That b*tch should speak her ebonics to someone that gives a s**t.

I contacted the dealership and they informed me the payoff was due to be done today. Geeze! :) I am pursuing this matter further however. I am interested in finding others in Arizona that have had bad dealings with these companies and PUT A STOP TO IT!!!

Trading in your vehicle, I learned the hard way

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 17, 2004

Misty until the dealer pays off the car it is still your responsibility. I learned the hard way. I left my trade in at the dealer and went home with my new car. A few weeks later my old finance company and the dealer were calling me non stop. At first I avoided the calls as I do most of the collections calls I get. But the next morning my new car was repoed out of my driveway. I soon found out I was never approved for my new car because my credit was so poor and that my old finance company had also repoed my other car from the dealer. now I have no car and no way to get to work. Good thing hope is on the way and if John Kerry is elected I will be able to find a decent job. I hope this helps everone else out there who is like me and just trys to get by.
