I was contacted by smartshoppersavings.com by phone after looking them up on the internet. The person offered me a one-hundred dollar voucher for signing up for their savings program.

Because of her accent, I was hardly able to understand her. She then proceeded to transfer me to another to fully explain the benefits of their company.

I was put on the phone with a gentelman named David.

He offered me a activation price of $6.95. He then said that I could join their program for 60 months at $6.95 a month. Then after a few minutes he told me that he could reduce the fee to $4.95/month. I would be charged $64.35 every three months for 20 months and the last 40 months would be free of charge .

I said it was ok to charge the activation fee in order to receive the voucher. I asked him if there would be any other charges. He told me not until the 7 day trial was up.  I received a tracking number for the voucher (which I will probably never see!)

The next day there were 2 pending charges on my bank account. One for $6.95 and one for 64.35.

I have been calling for three days now trying to cancel. They keep saying that there is no charge for anything in there system. I have been referred to customer service and an 877 number. They even had it listed saying that I lived in Maine, not Mass. Which means I will never see the voucher!

The first two days that I called trying to cancel, they even told me that I was not in there system yet.

They kept telling me to call back the next day. This is the fourth day of getting the run around from them. I told them that I have cancelled the card and will be calling my bank and disputing the unauthorized charge.

They have also told me that they are located in Virginia and Kentucky, but the area code fits neither of those states!!

Don' fall for this scam. They promise a lot and charge you, but you will never see any gifts from them or any e-mails confirming or explaining your order. Nothing is free!
