One day I got a call from this company on my cell phone, which I thought was weird that they would have my cell phone number, seeing as I am on the do not call list. They went on and on and on. I began getting tired of listening so I just signed up for the magazines thinking I could cancel after the trial period. Ha! I was wrong! After I was signed up, I was locked in. After the trial was over, I called to cancel and the operator was so rude to me on the phone and told me that cancelling was not an option but they could "lower the prices per month so I could make my payment." After hanging up with them, I thought of a way I could cancel. I called back and talked to the manager or supervisor, and STILL they said I couldn't cancel.

One day, after a hectic time on the phone with them yelling about a bill I recieved while I asked to have my subscription canceled, they told me okay, they would cancel it. Phew. I thought it was over....until a month went by and another bill came in the mail from them (not to mention they were also billing my credit card directly but also expected double payment by mail!!!) So, I called them back and they said I had canceled my one account and OPENED ANOTHER ONE! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Why would I want to open another one? They had deliberately canceled my first subscription and moved it to another account WITHOUT my knowledge, so they whole time I thought it was canceled, I had been paying for the d**n company.

Well, I finally thought to cancel my credit card due to their fraudulent charges. I went to my bank and explained what had been happening and they said they would contact the company and talk to them and tell them they are not allowed to charge my credit card anymore because my account with them is supposed to be canceled. Well, I thought they would stop but they didn't. Just last week, 7/07, I had recieved a bill in the mail from them expecting their monthly payment of $35.88!!!!

I just sent them an email telling them I am not a customer anymore and to stop billing me because I will not pay and I canceled my credit card. If this does not stop, I will have to seek further action. I didn't think a company like this would be so fraudulent with customers.

Oh, and for further information on my case, this has been going on since 2006.

Call them and make a lawyer threat and they have to cancel your service. At that point I would request a full refund. Don't let them tell you anything else about doing a service inquiry or anything that they may offer. You want a full refund by credit card.

We don't have any trial periods except for the $1 UBC club.

This is a case of misunderstanding, and possibly badly handled by us (if your description is accurate, it certainly is).
