THEM FOR ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE OFFERED THE INFORMATION UP FRONT. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO AFCU AND AFCU SAID A PERSON WOULD CALL ME, BUT GUESS WHAT, AFCU NEVER DID! AFCU IS

A CRAPPY BANK, WITH CRAPPY HOURS AND LOCATIONS, WITH CRAPPY PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK. GO AHEAD, TRY EM! SEE WHAT YOU GET!

Go back and read the OP. It has nothing to do with what you people are raving about. You people
have taken things out of context and gotten off
on tangents. If my story stinks so obviously, why
all the attention? I have read many ripoffreports
that I disagree with, but I don't reply. Also I have read close to a hundred ripoffreports on
banks and not one person says I should leave and join a credit union. It is true that I don't know
about the different bank products that are available, but that's because I DO NOT AND WOULD
NEVER use them. I mean I've got a credit card, a checking and savings account, i could get a loan for a house, car, etc. what more products can a
moron need? whats more is that kevin, ken, dave, etc..who are you and why should we believe you?
Were you at my bank the numerous times I had to wait in line because of arkansas federal credit unions accounting errors?


I only read ripoffreports about products or companies I plan on investing in. And negative comments like:(and this really happened to me) arkansas federal credit unions staff rolled their eyes at me when I started getting upset that they overcharged me, then told me I have to talk to the girl who first helped me. That lady,who was just there,avoiding me, stepped out to lunch. At 2:30 in the afternoon? how unproffessional! And when I did finally get to talk to her...she made the mistake and I was justified! like i was saying, negative comments like this make me stay away from that business. Again, if you want numerous accounting
errors, a long wait on the phone or in line at a branch, if you want unproffesional, judgemental staff waiting on you, if you just generally like to do a lot of leg work correcting someone elses errors, you need to bank with arkansas federal credit union. Thanks and remember

Curt must be new to this site, cause that recommendation is ALL OVER bank complaints. For YEARS, now. Not to mention unbiased Consumer Protection websites. So as for Kevin's malarky, we could unite, and flood you, Curt, with this recommendation, at least 100 times each, probably uniquely, as well.

Then he writes:

Please, tell me of one single bank that DOESN'T charge this fee. Just name ONE BANK, Curt. Even Compass, with their famous we pay you BACK all foreign Atm fees - they DO charge them, but they refund said charges, with more than enough strings attached so you can properly hang yourself with this little come-on.

You said originally that there are banks that don't charge foreign ATM charges AT ALL. Then you backtrack, and admit your bank has a list of approved ATMs, they just aren't convenient. Which is it? Are there such banks, or not?

Finally, Curt writes:

I guess you are lost, Curt, cause I worked for a bank and yeah, they have new products coming out CONSTANTLY. Reinventing the mouse trap, yes, but *new* nonetheless. And heaven help us poor consumers when a truly new product comes out! It isn't for OUR benefit the banks go to all this expense, devising new ways to get OUR money.

So, yes, Curt, banks DO have all kinds of product you know nothing about.

As for two people (now four) representing tons of people - THAT'S RIGHT. We're the ones who bothered to RESPOND, though I think it was probably altruistic in nature, hoping to provide a little consumer education.

Actually, this is lastly! Curt writes:

Well, there I have to say, very few banks charge for ALL ATM withdrawals, unless it is, for example, a stored debit card from an online bank. If a bank has brick-and-mortar locations, no, they usually don't charge their customers for their ATM withdrawals, or deposits, either.

Kevin, Dave and Ken all made sensible responses. They didn't exhibit ANY of the hostility or name-calling Curt has shown.

Yes, I wonder why it was so hard to get people to help him???

and especially Kevin for keeping his cool on his initial response to Curt. As a banker, I can't think of the last time I actually stood up and defended a credit union, but in this case...well let's just say that Curt's attitude as well as his inability to convey a message in a concise, coherent formant is apparent. Without knowing the details, I'm thinking if I were ever to leave banking and move to Arkansas, I'd open an account there. If Curt says they're bad, I'm on board to give them a try!

You came on here for for a reason, right? If you just wanted the credit union to respond, you should've written to the credit union instead of posting your beef on the web.

He is right, there are tons of people on this site that urge people to leave their banks and go to a credit union. I am one of them.

You gave no real evidence of a rip off. You generalized your statements, and really didn't back up your complaint, other than the fact that you THINK they procrastinated on your loan. Well, Curt, with an attitude like you've shown here, I am surprised they processed it at all.

As far as ATM fees, it's a fact of life. If you don't like it, keep the cash under the mattress. If you want the real dope on Banks, look at the thousands of complaints on this site. I didn't see one complaint regarding Arkansas Federal Credit Union.

trouble at a credit union?

Hello.

Usually I only comment on posts about banks, but I just had to interject to your post.

I'm so used to people suggesting that bank customers leave their bank and go to a credit union because things will be better.

So to have someone not satisfied with a credit union, is rare.

Yes, all banks charge the customer if they use an atm that is not owned by that customers bank.
I know you mentioned that sometimes AFCU's atm's don't work, have you ever asked for a refund on the atm fee? Maybe when you explain to them that you had no other place to do your withdrawal, due to the AFCU machine being out of order, they might grant you reimbursement for the fee.

All BANKS have to care about the numbers. Because everyone that you see when you walk into a bank, has some manager in an office waiting to hear how many new products have been generated that day. Then that person has to call a regional manager who is also waiting to hear about the numbers. And that process continues onward and upward.

I guess I didn't know that credit unions were the same....

What did the women do wrong on your loan application that made you think they didn't know what they were doing? Were you denied for this loan?

You said that they have crappy hours and locations? Did you know that BEFORE you opened your acct there? I can't imagine a business that would wait to acquire you as a customer before they tell you what the business hours are.
