The information provided in the first part of this report was based on comments made by Ethan Chumley, Eric Beavers and his staff during an On-Site inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases towards the Armstrong Steel Buildings.
Armstrong Steel Buildings (AS) is a company that provides pre-engineered metal buildings for various uses. [continued below]....
Working with customers directly is one thing that Armstrong Steel states that the focus on. They work with them to discuss intricate details of what they need, what they anticipate their building to look like and discovering their overall budget. a*s Customer Care department works to make sure that the end consumer understands the process of their purchasing decision and what they can be expecting. During the course of the sale and installation Armstrong Steel states that the customer care and project management departments work closely because they realize this is a huge undertaking for the client. They focus on building the relationship making themselves easily accessible to provide a comfort level for the end consumer.
Once the client and representative from Armstrong Steel have worked together to discover a solution for their need, they work with a project manager for installation of the building. When a subcontractor is used, Armstrong states that they have a development program for a contractor that generally takes two weeks to qualify for. They send out an application to the contractor and have them provide references, portfolios of past jobs and then they are interviewed by a member of the board and sales manager. Subcontractors must display a proficiency of experience and customer service and project managers are involved to ensure installation runs smoothly.
Armstrong Steel states that they are continually concerned with internal processes to improve services. One system that they are currently implementing is providing drawings for customers that are easier to read and understand. In the past, their drawings have been easy for contractors to understand, however, they are focused on communicating details to clients in an easy to read format. This helps to provide information that could avoid costly mistakes. AS states that they want to make sure all processes run even smoother and no one falls through the seams during the purchasing and installation processes.
The company notes that when they have had complaints, it has been because their clients can be anxious in getting the buildings completed right away. They are generally able to handle this by explaining the process to customers and answering technical questions. One instance where a client was upset according to Armstrong Steel was because they did not receive a colored roof or insulation that was expected for their building, although, they did not pay for those services. Their customer service department went back through their notes and discovered where this customer had expressed concerns for those items. They were able to address this issue by providing the colored roof and insulation for that customer at no additional charge which resulted in a satisfied client.
Armstrong states that they do see the benefit in Ripoff Reports Customer Advocacy Program because they are focused on meeting their clients expectations. Through this program, they feel that they are able to address concerns that arise. Every time a problem comes up; they are proactive in handling it and do whatever it takes to ensure it does not happen again. However, the complains on Rip Off Report have come from a former disgruntled employee of Armstrong Steel Buildings and not as a result of their quality of service. The company states that they are able to provide a great service because everyone is well versed in their positions and able to accommodate clients on a daily basis.

One company executive stated to Ripoff Report that We have, indeed, been able to determine that the IP addresses used to make these false reports came from two of the ex-employees named in the following lawsuit. AS stated above, Ripoff Report always sends and email to everyone that posted about a member business so the business could make things right with them. The author of the below Report, never responded to Ripoff Report. (Ripoff Report provided identifying information regarding these posts including IP addresses. This is Ripoff Reports policy to do so when the author of a Report does not respond when a company is willing to make things right with their customer.) .. Armstrong then engaged a forensic research firm who determined that these false "complaints" were published by defendants in the following legal action. (Armstrong Steel Corporation v. Michael Geheb, David Nardozzi, Steel City Building Solutions Corporation, Leland O'Day and Uriah Koleski, Arapahoe County District Court, Colorado, Case No. 12 CV 457) .. The defendants in this lawsuit are accused of misappropriating confidential customer information, stealing company documents, and making disparaging statements about Armstrong Steel to clients.

I am so glad that there is a site like, Ripoff Report so that we as American can look out for each other.
Consumers have been genuinely hurt by Armstrong Steel. While scam, bait and switch companies like Armstrong Steel are nothing new, the word is now out on criminals Ethan Chumley and Eric Beavers.
Let me say this plainly, Ethan Daniel Chumley and Jan Eric Beavers are bad men. Armstrong Steel is a scam company. You will be sold by a minimum wage employee hoping to earn a little commission on the backend. How do they do this? By not selling you any accessories upon initial purchase. You will be told that your project manager will help you with doors, windows, insulation, framed openings, etc. Some companies have legitimate project managers, Armstrong PMs are relabeled closers. Armstrong PMs are commissioned sales people.
If you do not know the total cost of your project, DO NOT SEND A DIME to anyone. Would you buy a car if the tires, wheels and engine were not included and your sales person would not tell you how much they will be? Would you buy a house with no plumbing, no wires had been run for your electricity and no shingles on the roof and no idea how much those items would cost to purchase and install? Of course not! Would you trust a salesperson or REALTOR that told you, I dont know what that will cost, or you can work that out with Project Management, and just brushed your concerns aside? No, you would not! Unbelievably and sadly Armstrong Steel Buildings and criminal con-men Ethan Daniel Chumley and Jan Eric Beavers use these bait and switch techniques to steal money every day.
Here is how it works. You will be contacted by a sales person from Armstrong Steel. Upon taking your building information the Armstrong salesperson will quote you an incredibly high price, then, will tell you that he/she will see what they can do. Its all about the if you can do this today when the salesperson calls back and gives you what you will betold is an unbelievably low price. You will be told that this deal is not for everyone, just those people who are ready to make a decision, right now. You will be rushed through the deal. You will possibly be given the steel cost is going up line. You may be promised a shipping voucher. You may be offered are bate. You may be promised consolidated freight. You may be told about a cancelled order or a cancelled building (please understand that legitimate steel companies dont have cancelled buildings). Upon you sending your deposit, your file is then sent to an Armstrong Project Manager, this is where you get destroyed. You will be overcharged for everything. Since they already have your money and a signature on a binding contract, you are stuck. You either take delivery on a building with no accessories, or you pay out the nose for the cheapest quality insulation, doors, windows, vents, etc. possible.
By the way, Armstrong has no engineers in house. Armstrongs Chief Estimator is Ethan Chumleys 22 year old girlfriend. Its all smoke and mirrors at Armstrong Steel Buildings.
In this time of economic distress, our familys monies are more important than ever. If you are a contractor or a purchasing agent for a company, your reputation is on the line. There are many many great steel companies out there; Armstrong Steel Buildings is not one of them.
As with most con-men I am sure that Ethan Daniel Chumley and Jan Eric Beavers have an exit strategy. Several ousted/outed steel men that have been exposed as running criminal organizations have moved to their homes and done business on their cell phones.
