Ashley Furniture Ashley Furniture is absolutely the worst company I've ever done business with.....NEVER AGAIN Hoover, Alabama
If you are in the market for furniture, DO NOT and I cannot emphasize this enough, DO NOT even walk into the doors of an Ashley Furniture store. I don't care if they have no interest until 2051, you will regret it. I have bought furniture for over two decades and never in my life have I had such a terrible experience as I have with Ashley.
I bought a $7000 dining room outfit (yes, the number makes me gag), which included a hutch, table, eight chairs and four barstools. Every single piece of furniture I purchased just over four years ago is GARBAGE. This stuff looks like I pulled it out of a dumpster. All of the wood "finishing" is scratched and looks terrible, there are irremovable stains from the table that was supposed to be covered in the "extended warranty" I stupidly purchased. EVERY chair has all of the pleather cushions ripped, stuffing falling out of them and the bottom fabric is torn. This is a set that is now going on five years old, and the kicker is that I just paid it off, oh wow, what a feeling!
If/when you try to deal with their warranty company, the salespeople in the store will warn you, literally, about how terrible they are and that you have to choose your words wisely, or they will deny your claim - red flag number 1. When you have their "technician" come out, haha, it's difficult for me to call them a "technician", they basically take some pictures, mess up your problem worse than it was to begin with and then leave you with a small fee.
Red flag 2, Montage (my extended warranty provider) sends you a 20 page form to fill out and they want pictures of every single place that there has been damage. Did I mention to you that every chair, table and hutch were messed up? This is a nightmare and almost impossible to do.
Red flag 3, they tell you, they'll be getting back to you within a few weeks to let you know if they cover this or not. Now, let me explain my problem with this. Of course, you are going to have wear and tear on your furniture over the years, but I don't live with wild animals, so when they emailed me back and told me that my overuse and neglect to the furniture is what caused all of this damage, so therefore, they were not going to cover any manufacturer defect, I must say, wasn't surprised.
So, now here I sit with paid for lovely furniture that now needs to be replaced. I decide I'll call Ashley "Corporate" - another joke!!!!!!!! All you get is someone from Consumer Affairs (a call center I picture with a lot of pent up, frustrated angry people that only can say NO) who in their infinite marketing background, try to explain to me they they "Ashley Furniture" have nothing to do with the warranty companies. As I tried to educate the woman on the phone with how as a consumer, I associate the warranty company with Ashley, she explained to me that there is a sign on the door that clearly states they have nothing to do with Ashley Corporate - great to know years and years later.
End result, I wasted $7000, was suggested I could go back to Ashley furniture and buy replacements, HAHA, and told that I could try asking the warranty company once more to cover this loss. Maybe if I get down on my hands and knees and say "pretty please", this time they will say yes? FORGET IT. I am done! Never again will I shop with Ashley Furniture and they could post their third party warranty company signs all over the store, parking lot and on the glass of my car, but I'd rather dumpster dive for my next table and chairs than spend a nickel with this pathetically run company.
