This is the darkside of Capitalism..

I have heard about Ashley Furniture many years ago and I heard that their furniture was crap. However, I think their furniture has gotten worse. Why do I think that? Because I have common sense. Companies are greedier now than they have EVER been. That's why they are sending all the jobs overseas undercutting Americans. That's why they are pumping all of these cancer causing, life threatening chemicals into our food and water. That is why they are CUTTING CORNERS.
Ashley Furniture, same as Best Buy, don't have the quality they use to have. Their quality has gone down. They have, however, gotten better at marketing that JUNK and entrapping people into paying high prices for JUNK.
A friend of mine bought a bed from Best buy. An expensive one. It broke on her a week later. She is slender. Although it was under warranty, she had to fight to get it replaced. Her situation did not surprise me. Your situation doesn't surprise me either.
These company are CHAIN RUN. That means they pop up anywhere there are many people to peddle their wares.
What Americans need to do is stop shopping at the big chain restuarants and grocery stores and furniture stores where these massive companies have sacrificed quality in favor of quick turnover profits. Americans need to start shopping with the guy up the street who took over his dad's business who took it over from his dad. There are furniture makers out there. Family own businesses. Small. They take PRIDE in their work. You get MORE than what you pay for. Heavy wood, quality craftmanship. Not that JUNK thrown together for these big chain stores which is mass produced.
Hopefully you have LEARNED YOUR LESSON.
