Lets start this experience off with the fact that these is the second livingroom suit I have purchased, made by Ashley Furniture. The first was from a independant store here in my local town. I did not have a very good experience with this furniture , but thought that maybe when I bought it from my local Ashley store the experience might be better. I purchased a complete room of furniture and the sales guy even talked us into buying this worthless protection plan and told us several times that it would cover just about any thing that the manufacture plan didn't. So I took these guys at there word and gave them upwards to $1800.00 for all this. Once I arrived home the day the furniture was delivered I was very upset, the delivery guy had broken the glass screen door, scratched my hardwood floor all up and brought me a damaged sofa. I called the store to express my concerns, and was told they would take car of it. The next day a guy showed up stated he was there to fix the sofa, He proceded to drive nails in the arm to hold the damaged fabric to the chiar. Once I told him that was not acceptable he said he would be back to fix the new problem, I have never seen him agian. I called the store and they said don't worry you service plan will cover it, so I called the service plan people whom where Montage Furniture Services to find out that the plan I paid $400.00 for was worthless, they stated, if your sofa fades, stress trears or just wears out before the 2 year period you are screwed. All they cover is burns or stains. I called the store back and upon telling the store manager this he just said well your problem is with MFS not us and hung up on me. I contacted the manufacture and filled a complain, but they tell me that theu just make the crappy furniture, and the store in which I bought it said "Ashley Furniture" is not any affilation with them, that I should have read the small print on the door of the store where it said this. The stores are independantly owned therefore it doesn't concern them, so if you plan on buyin any furniture in the future make sure it is not made by or sold to you but Ashley furniture, and surely do not pay for any protection plan by MFS or Montage Furniture Services. It all seems to be a never ending ripooff where they mis-lead you about whom you are purchaseing the furniture from the lie and mis-lead you about the protection plan, then slam the door in your face if you ever have a problem... And there dosen't seem to be any corse of action one can take to fix the problem, it is no ones problem but your own, that should be thier company modo. I make a pretty comfortable living so I will do what anyone eles will do when ripoff by this company and that is purchase a new sofa, and throw this one out, but you better bet it will not have any affiliation with Ashley furniture and if they offer MFS protection I will kindly go eles where to purchase it, any one who offers such a product knows all about the company and that they r never going repair anyhting so this should tell you about there creidablity. I am solely writing this in hopes no other consumers get took by either of these companies. If I can stop just 1 from makeing the same mistake as I did it was all worth it. To sum it up Ashley Furniture manufactures crap, cheaply made and junk furniture, and it sold by con-artist, and they even take up for more with a joke of a company for a protection plan. It reminds me of the auto Ins. comercial where the tree falls on the guys car abd the laddy tells him he is only coved if a ficus or inside potted tree falls on his car and totals it. whats the odds of that happening??? you tell me. I did find out the protection plan will cover burns, so I am takeing out the sofa today to Ashley furniture and I am going to set it a fire in there parking lot. Wonder if they will fix it then, never the less bet no one buys one the day I do it What you think?
