Around 9/1/2006 we were approached by Victor Noel Ramotar to purchase ad space in the Asian American Press. He initially requested a check for $395 for advertising in the newspaper then he requested another $295 for an ad in the Asian American Press Yellow Pages. We have legal contracts with the newspaper, but they so far have refused to return our calls. We even talked with the printer, who later called us to let us know that Mr Ramotar has been arrested on 9/28/2006 by St. Paul Police on fraud charges. The next day we received a call from another real estate agent who had similiar run-ins with Mr Ramotar as had many others over the past five (5) years. We were then informed that the editor and publisher of the Asian American Press, Mr Nghi Huynh, was a member of the Hmong Mafia and we should watch our step.

Out On Bail

AUTHOR: Conal - (U.S.A.)

Noel Ramotar is out on bail and is continuing to scam others. Please watch out for him and anyone dealing with the Asian American Press and tell everyone you know who may even think about doing business with Mr Ramotar or the Asian American PRess that they will be wasting their time and money.

That is what we thought...

AUTHOR: Conal - (U.S.A.)

That there was no "Hmong Mafia". We only wanted to give all the information that we were given, and it looks like some has been corrected. Thank you for that. I never accused him of being apart of the group, just what was told us.

There IS no such thing as a Hmong Mafia.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

I do not dispute your loss of being scammed, but please do not exaggerate! Don't accuse Mr. Nghi Huynh for being in the Hmong Mafia. There IS no such thing as a Hmong Mafia. I think I know my community better than that. And to accuse Mr. Huyng, which sounds to me like a Vietnamese name of being in a Hmong Mafia? See the word Hmong, not Vietnamese?
