On 17/03/2009 I visited a website and got a popup message saying I was the X numbered person to visit and therefore I had won a free Bahams cruise. The website then asked if I wanted to travel on 16/05/2009 and requested my contact telephone number.
At approx 9.00 a.m. Wednesday 01/04/2009 I received a telephone call from Janna giving the itinerary of the trip - Orlando 6 nights/7 days staying at the Radison or Hiltonm hotels, Fort Lauderdale 2 nights/3 days, 7 day Car rental or 2 - 2 day Universal Theme Park tickets. The trip was for 4 people and was to be taken within 18 months. Jay told me the tickets would be posted and I should received them within 2 weeks. Jay gave me 2 telephone numbers to call - 001 800 231 3760 if I had any more questions and flight bookings to USA 001813 676 8900
The call was then transferred to Jay who asked for my Westpac Visa Debit card number, which I gave. He then transferred the call to another telephone extension where I was given a confirmation number - 17527008

Wihin half an hour I went to my bank to see if the transaction of US$998.00 could be stopped. They put a block on my Debit Card but about 2.00 p.m. the bank confirmed the electronic transaction was waiting to be updated to my Bank Account and could not be stopped.

It has now been 6 weeks since my first contact with this company.
I spoke to Brook 4 weeks ago and requested they cancel the tickets and refund the charges which were put on my Debit Card. She said they would refund USD 300.00 only and still send the tickets for the travel I won (??). As at today, Tuesday 12.05.2009 3.00 p.m. New Zealand time, I have not received either the refund or the tickets.

Me too, same offer.

I too have only today (29th April 2009) received a call to say I have won an identical holiday. The lady went to great lengths to have me write down all the wonderful things we would experience, and I was then passed to the 'Travel Agent' who seemed a little put out when I told him that my partner had my credit card with her, at work. he asked me to ring her on the landline (I was on the mobile) while he waited, as he needed to confirm my ID by my credit card. My suspicions were now aroused as he bagan to get desperate in urging I call her. As I refused to disturb my wife at work, I asked him to ring back. Suffice to say, both phones have rung non-stop since 5 minutes after the initial call. Some charges were very briefly mentioned among the good points, but they ere spoken way too quick to catch, unlike the slowly stated pluspoints about how great I'd find being in Florida etc.

When someone rings to offer something that seems too good to be true, experience tells me it usually is. After some short time checking up on ASTAR, I came across this site, and after reading for a while, I feel glad I didn't submit my details to this man.

Surely, if I have actually WON something, I shouldn't have to give my credit card details to them? My partner feels this is very suspicious, and I have been left feeling like a fool, as they were so convincing.

I will keep an eye out for any updates to this particular part of the site, and in the meantime, I'd appreciate hearing from others who have had dealings with 'All Seasons Travel and Resorts', or ASTAR. Thanks to Ripoff Report for being there to guide potential victims to the cruelty of these 'companies'.

I telephoned Astar at 6.30 a.m. 02.04.2009 NZ time to say we will not be taking the trip and I wanted to cancel and get my money back.

Spoke to Brook who replayed the recording from yesterday then came back on the line and asked me why we would not take the holiday.

I told her because we did not want to. Her response was that would extend the period another 12 months to 2011 and she asked if I had a family member who would take the trip. I said it makes no difference, I wanted the money back and I don't want anything more to do with their company.

This surprised her because they "are a reputable company"

I paid US$899.00 (for a free holiday?) and she said the maximum they would return to me was US$300.00 and when I get the tickets I could sell them on the Internet, targeting Canada because they have many Canadians taking these holidays.

They are going to credit my card with US$300.00 but it will take a few days.
