Corporate Advocacy Program™
ATB employees are trained to be used car salesmen. It's ridiculous. And the second you stop selling 24 month packages, they fire you. I was fired because I was pregnant and was no longer able to maintain a tan appearance. They want you to look fake and baked all the time, it's pathetic. We can only hope that tanning goes out of style cause Brian (the owner) will become one poor mofo with a bunch of empty stores!

ok....At The beach employee battle here?

First off,
At The Beach does charge enrollement fees. Perhaps you weren't trained correctly or by a shady trainee, which I do admit there are a few of them in the company, but I have worked here now for almost three years and know exactly how ATB works.
Typically ATB charges an 88 dollar enrollment fee. For first time clients, a perk or signing up for an amazing membership WAS NO ENROLLMENT FEE. If that client decided to do a single tan or nothing at all but then came back later, that perk was eliminated and upon signing a membership, you should have gone into the 'packages' category of Sunlync and charged an enrollment fee of the $88. (the $135 you specified was at least two years old, it has been $88 for quite a time now)..
In addition, the enrollment fee a client pays for is essentially given back to the client in form of free upgrades into our best beds, products, etc....
NOW, ATB does NOT eliminate enrollment fees whatsoever. Each person pays something, like an enrollement into a gym, but at At The beach they are enrolling for unlimitedaccess to all of our stores, all of our hours, tan as much as the client wants with no price change, best equipment, and lowest monthly prices. A brand new, never have been to any at the beach client does receive a discounted enrollment fee of only twenty dollars. If that new person did not sign a membership and came back later, they will be charge the full 88 dollars.
Next, ATB no longer pushes only 24 month CONTRACTS. In fact, we dont even offer 2 year agreements anymore! we do only 12 month, 6 month, 1 month, or single sessions. And with any membership, they are CANCELABLE. Of course there would be a fee with cancelation, but that is true of almost any contract you sign.
You also do not get FIRED for poor performance unless you are terrible overall. If you do not keep you do not keep your averages, you are not fired. You are given many many opportunities to improve your performance, whether you go out and promote your stores and do a little extra work, or if you attend extensive remedial training sessions.........it is a sales based job as most "service related jobs' should be, why on earth would a corporation want to keep you as an employee if you were of not benefit to the corporation?
As far as charging a month and the employees crediting that towards lotion sales, that is something I have never done and make sure my emplyees do not do so either. Anyone who has tried that in any store I have managed has been immediately written up whith the threat of termination. Maybe you should have worked for me and you wouldn't have these issues with the company.
Finally, you say you were fired for being pregnant. That is BS right there.
I know of 3 current employees who are pregnant. All of them have already turned in documentation to corporate and have been granted maternity leave and anything they want. I know of another who was given time off for maternity leave after she just had a baby. Now she is back working with us and doing great! As long as you did your job and did it well, you would not have been fired for a VALID reason such as pregnancy.
I'm guessing you were just one of the unhappy employees who simply wasn't good at his/her job and never maintained the company standard averages in any category and despite extra training efforts, you couldn't improve your sales and use your pregnancy as an excuse to make our company look bad for firing you. Don't blame At the Beach for your own poor performance. And know what you are talking about before posting inaccurate information.
