Atlantic Management of Union City NJ has been the property management of the Reserve at Glen Ridge for several years. Their objective is to collect their fee and do as little as possible in order to maximize margin. The owner, Larry Silverman, refuses to do a weekly walk through of the property and apply standard project management techniques in order to ensure that the building is properly maintained.

As a specific example, it was reported to Atlantic Management that a fire alarm box was hanging from a wall. Atlantic Management claimed that a contractor was notified and that the problem would be resolved in a timely fashion. Over a week later the alarm box was still hanging from the wall and was not repaired until Atlantic Management was notified that the issue was not resolved.

When Mr. Silverman was asked to provide a candid reason as to why it took a week to resolve a potential safety issue, he blamed it on the contractor. He also stated that it was not the role of Atlantic Management to conduct a weekly walk through of the property and that the responsibility would typically be handled by our cleaning person. I found this response to be outrageous.

Atlantic Management is an incompetent property manager that pays little attention to detail and is not responsive to their clients. If you are in the market for a property manager, I strongly suggest that you contact a few owners at the Reserve at Glen Ridge, NJ.

My experience with Atlantic has been extremely good. They are professional, care very much about the customers they have, and know more about condo associations and apartments than any other management company I have seen. 

They did a turnaround of a condo association in North Bergen, taking it from one that was in dire need of repair with no cash to spend, to one that now has taken care of all the past sins of prior managers. Its front brickwork has been fixed, leaks in windows eliminated and the roof repaired. This was all done with minimal assessment on the owners. They got the funds from long time delinquent owners, that had evaded prior management companies.

The managers have been trained and are good with customer service and knowledgeable about  construction and legal issues. We need to rely on them for many of the longstanding problems we had.

I am sure they get some chronic complainers, like the one person that commented above, though all of the people I have spoken to, feel that they are the best management company we have ever had.

Excellent work done by Atlantic Management

Atlantic Management was the management for the Glen Ridge condo association since its inception. This was a building with many first time home owners and required much customer service. We were paid well and annually received generous year end bonus' as thanks  for our good work.

 

After being the management company for many years and dealing with four different Board of Directors, in 2013 a new Board wanted to bring in its own management company . We wish them good luck.

Atlantic Management Lost Contract

A letter was distributed to the owners of the Reserve at Glen Ridge, NJ that Atlantic Management will no longer be providing property management services.
