I have been paying extra for preventative maintenence each year, separate from their "contract". This year they included it in the price as before but this year they are saying that this extra $60 that i have paid is not for the preventative maintenence - it is for "inflation" along with an additional 10% increase which they have ALSO added each year for inflation or so I was told.

When i first confronted the company, many of their workers confirmed my thoughts and said that the price did include the maintenenance preventative but could not do anything for me. That i would need to go to Amber - the head of accounts.

I then went to Amber, who would not even listen to what i had to say, only to keep repeating that it was not written in the contract (which it never was previously either) and that they could not do it. She also spent a majority of our conversation arguing me that they did not accept credit card and that we did not pay our last bill with a credit card, meanwhile, my credit card receipt from their company was right in front of me for the almost $300 charge.

So finally, I was told by another worker to write a letter to Steve Grossman, who would read and respond to my letter.

I wrote the letter and mailed it with proof of payments by both check AND credit card explaining what I had been through and the service I had received up until that date along with documented proof that the maintenance was paid for within this payment.

Shortly after, I received a call from Kim Grossman - president - who stated that she was Steve's ex wife and that she owned the company. She began to argue with me about the contract and my letter and kept telling me that I did not understand what she was saying and I misunderstood what her reps and workers were telling me. Now, I am not from this country originally and i still have a slight accent, but i have been in the United States for over 30 years and I speak and understand english perfectly.

She took a tone with me that caused me to believe that she thought that I was an idiot and she kept insinuating that I did not understand what she was saying because of my accent.

Not to mention, she decided not to help me completely out of spite, rather than listen to my situation and rationally try and resolve the problem. Especially when I had the proper documentation proving the preventative was already paid for.

I do not appreciate the way I was treated over-all by this company and the president for that matter. I have recently been to the Better Business Bureau and this particular company has an "F" Rating with almost 50 complaints unanswered!!! I only wish I looked into this before I began using them and paying them for their services.

I hope many people read this and learn from my mistakes!! Obviously, they care more about their money than they do their customers. I mean, C'MON!!! All this for $60 in maintenence???!!!! REALLY???!!!!

To me this is more about principle than anything else. Please BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!

As a business owner, we have to always do our utmost within reason to maintain a standard with regard to quality of service, quality of product and customer relations. Unfortunately, in this day and age, there are a few exceptions to "fairness", that's why there's arbitration. I wonder how many complaints General Motors, GE, Bank America, AT&T have,hummm? I think Atlas Services has done a good job, sure, maybe someone didn't like something about a product/ service, it just may be a case where this consumer didn't read the agreement,etc. However, its not fair that someone air their dissatisfaction on a public venue for all to see, that's immature, unprofessional.

I know from experience, business owners have huge challenges daily just opening up in the morning, the costs for keeping a small business running is unimaginable in this day and age. If this business wasn't kosher, they would have been investigated and closed up long ago. My advice to the complaintant, find someone else to pick on, move on. I cannot believe all the jibber jabber over $60!! And who knows, these public forums are a breeding ground for angry people that have an ax to grind over nothing. Atlas, keep up the good work. Complaintant, seek the proper channel for your complaint, hiding behind 1st Amendment isn't fair to this business owner.

First of all the person who originated the complaint is not a customer. Second this same person makes reference to an article that he did not know anything about. Regarding your comments which is not relative to this we do not have a rating. In fact, we are one of the oldest service companies in south Florida and in good standing with the state. We are famille owned and operated and service over 60,000 customers. Atlas works very hard with every customer to insure satisfaction. There is not a company out there that does not have complaints. You just can not please everyone. No one can.

Yikes!!!!!

     I have been reading the responses to a customer complaint.  As a previous business owner I would never display such anger for the public to see.  I am aware it is difficult to run a service business or any business at all, but the responses from you, the business owner, show the lack of maturity, kindness, honesty and the lack of any business sense at all.......

     Your original response claims the customer complained about a $60.00 charge which I would have gladly absorbed instead of what you did.  Then you claim the customer isn't even a customer, when clearly you state she is.

     Your lack of a BBB rating proves how many complaints you have had.  Any business looking for customers will pay whatever it takes to get a BBB rating.  You are obviously afraid to do it.

     I came across this mess while looking for a service company.  Your company was on the list.  You will definitely not be the one I choose.  A successful company is built on customer service.  You may have customers but you are not successful.

First and foremost the articles that you reference it is even more clear that you have not done your homework. The articles is about one customer who lied and screamed loud enough to get an article and claim Senior citizen abuse. What you did not read is what actually happen the customer purchased a new a/c system and issued a worthless check twice. Atlas Services sued the customer and won. After all of the facts became public knowledge the articles were retracted and there was an apology. You are referring to a customer who screamed "Abuse" in an attempt to get out of paying a worthless check. THOSE OF THE HARD FACTS. 
Regarding the BBB, we are not affiliated with the BBB as more and more companies are becoming aware of the BBB scam. You have to pay and heavy membership fee to be rated by the BBB. If you do not pay you are not rated. There is no "F" we are not affiliated with them. Again, you do not know what you speak about. Atlas Services has never had a 10% annual service contract increase.
Regarding complaints. Every company has complaints. Please look at Service American, ECM, Broward Factory and CAC who have more complaints than Atlas. Atlas is the pioneer in this industry we have been in business for 35 years. It is sad how everyone wants to report on the bad but you never hear anything about the good. For example,
How much money Atlas Services donates every year so that children can have school supplies, back packs, lunches and school clothes and books. OR, how much money Atlas donates a year to help teen mothers, OR how much money Atlas donates a year to Autism, on and on. 
It is funny how you sit around blowing all this hot smoke. Release your name, let's pull your file and then let's talk about the truth of the matter. But then again, you can't do that because your claims really never happened.
All this resentment and hostility are bad for your health. Dude, stress will kill you. Move forward. Life is way too short. Take a vacation. Go have a Pina Colada.

A 'Gross' display of customer service

The proof is out there regarding just how many complaints your business has received. The original complaint listed that your company had an "F" rating with the BBB and numerous complaints with them at the time because it was true, confirmed in this Sun-Sentinel article http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2008-06-09/business/0806060279_1_home-warranty-appliance-repairs-service-contract June 2009, 2008. That was a few years ago but your company is still in the news as of May 9th 2010 in the Palm Beach Post http://www.palmbeachpost.com/money/no-cool-down-in-sight-in-seniors-ac-676610.html . Each time, it's claimed by you that this is ( yet another) someone trying to take advantage of a business. If you ask me it's happened too many times, besides with your nasty responses who would want to do business with you or any company you own!!??

I hear your pain; however, this is not the place and time for your nonsense. You were never a customer. We know the truth of your situation and scam. Please it seems that you have a lot of time on your hands, probably still unemployed, so instead of wasting your time with false reports go look for a job. Just a suggestion, try not to steal from this employer. Good Luck to you and Atlas Services wishes you nothing but the best on your future endeavors. In addition, if you are going to quote something get your facts correct. Atlas Services does not have as you put a "F" rating. We are one of the only service warranty companies with the lowest complaint record with the BBB. Again nonsense.

Funny how you felt the need to let us know that you are best friends with an african american... Congratulations for that.  I; however, am NOT an ex employee... I am way too qualified and educated to work for someone like you.  I am just a customer who has been wronged by you and your company and want people to know about it before they too are ripped off.  And the best part is it took you ..oh let me see... 2 years to form some sort of rebuttel to my report. One word ...SAD  It definitely shows your lack of customer service.

What is LAUGHABLE; however, is that you are in charge of this company.

I am Kimberly Grossman and I am Jewish. My Best Friend is African American. Racist Really.  This is a false complaint filed by an x employee who was fired for theft. Every allegation in this complaint is false, completely false. Atlas Services is a professional company and a pioneer in the industry. We have been in business for 35 years, family owned and operated.
