I bought a 2000 Ford Expedition from them not even a year ago. I guess I'm writing about it now because I'm still pissed off about the situation. When I was test driving the vehicle I drove it about a block and smelled antifreeze when I turned the heat on and the oil light was coming on. I took it back to them and told them what it was doing and they told me the mechanic probably spilled coolant when they was filling it up and they would check into the oil situation. To make a long story short I ended up purchasing the vehicle and I put down a big down payment and drove home and thought everything was fine and dandy and was I so wrong.

The oil situation turned out to be nothing but the antifreeze smell was actually due to the heater core had gone out. And for a Ford that turns out to be a $1000 repair. I had only had the car a few days so I called them back and told them. They said to bring it back in and they would have the mechanic look at it and take 10% off after the repairs were done. I wasn't happy with that because I had only had the car for a few days and he told me that since I drove it off the lot I would have to pay for any repairs on the car. I had just put down a down payment of $5500 and now they want to shell out another $1000 to get it fixed? Absolutely not! So after a few weeks of arguing they finally agreed to fix it free of charge and I thought everything was cool right? Wrong again.

I took the stupid car home and it still smelled like antifreeze. They told me to give a few days and it should go away right? Well 11 months later it never did. Now to add to the problem of the heat smelling like antifreeze, the heat blows absolutely no hot air what so ever, the transmission is going out, I have to start the car in neutral because it won't start in park and when I turn it off I have to put the emergency brake on or it will roll backwards. Every time I make a turn it acts like it wants to die and a few days ago water started leaking where the dome light is. I used to work with a guy that they bought their parts from and he told me that they come in here all the time buying the cheapest parts and he hears many complaints from other people about how poor of a job their mechanic does.

I'm so angry that these people had me put my children and myself in that death vader of a car. We have had to ride in a car with no heat through the winter because it's going to cost me way too much money to fix it. I was pregnant at the time and the antifreeze smell made me very sick. I wouldn't doubt that me being in that car caused my son to be born 9 weeks premature. I'm very angry that I put down that big of a down payment just to lose it all because it would be cheaper for me to get a new car rather than to get this one fixed.

All my co-workers have seen all the problems that I have had with this car and they vowed to never go to that place to buy a vehicle and I don't blame them. Thank you Auction Direct Auto for taking my money and giving me a piece of crap in return. I will make sure that even the people I can't stand don't go buy a car from you because I hate you just that much.

I can tell you one good thing that this situation was a big learning experience for me. I will never buy a car again without getting it checked out from someone else before I buy it. I also learned to not go to Auction Direct Auto unless I feel like getting ripped off again.

When I read the reply from this dealership I just had to reply.  No you do not provide a CarFax report, and it is because you know the vehicle being represented is fraudulent. It is criminally deceptive to sell a vehicle under this representation. From odometer rollbacks, to misreprentation, you guys seem to specialize in it all. You can't go around ripping off people forever!

To the victim of this. I am sorry these criminals put you and your family in danger all for their own personal gain. The complete disregard for the safety of their customers is shameful.

When you go to a used car dealership, you commonly find vehicles in several conditions. We have prices ranging from as little as $395 to $29995. All of these vehicles are in various states of repair. We do not make the decision for you to purchase the vehicles, we do however provide vehicles hopefully in your BUDGET which can fit most situations, and or customers.

We do provide Carfax's on vehicles when asked, and that is in no way a meter for future performance of the vehicle.

We did go above and beyond on a vehicle we sold well below book to this individual, most customers will not mention that the price paid is plus taxes and license, which is above and beyond the vehicles value.

Even after selling the vehicle, and NO promise to be done on repair, we STILL repaired the vehicle as to what the issue was, future faults on the vehicle are impossible to detect. If you wanted a new vehicle, you should have perhaps purchased one, instead of asking a dealer to provide you with a new car experience for $5500.
