AUCTION ROAD WANTS YOUR MONEY!
This is the most worthless drop-shipper I have ever dealt with. EVER! It is also the most costly. They have ruined my eBay reputation and put me in a financial fix.
My story follows closely what Robin in Des Moines said Tuesday.
I have about 15 eBay buyers breathing down my neck because the people at Auction Road seem to have no intention to ship the products I ordered a month ago and (finally) paid for two weeks ago. They do not reply to e-mails, and their telephone support has no idea what is going on. All they can do is send an e-mail to the orders department to e-mail me the info. Gee, thanks.
Other things that have pissed me off about these guys include flat-out lies. Before auctioning off some items, I proceeded to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a week to hammer out shipping costs and procedures. They told me that they did not accept PayPal. They promised that international shipping would not be a problem, just at a higher price. They promised that shipment would be immediately after payment. They promised fast and reliable shipping. They promised me that shipment would only take 3 days domestically. They promised a lot of things. All of these promises are flat-out LIES.
A major concern of mine is the ordering process. This scares me the most out of anything. The order form is NON-SECURED, meaning absolutely no protection or encryption of your credit card information during and after an order. For those who don't know, NEVER EVER enter your credit card information on a website that does not start with httpS:// and have a security icon in the browser (check it out the next time you log into PayPal). With no other option available for payment, I took a chance and entered my info anyway. This "iffy" business is compounded by the fact that they don't even accept credit cards as a payment method! Everything goes through PayPal. I assume this is because PayPal payments from a PayPal balance (not credit card) are much harder to reverse than a straight credit card payment. I am attempting to do just that, without much luck so far.
I should have checked before ordering, but I only recently checked their record with the Better Business Bureau. 69 complaints within 6 months of operation. WOW! Can they really cause that much trouble in only 6 months? Very impressive.
If I can still trade on eBay after this is all settled and done, I will add "Anti-Auction Road" information to each and every auction. I may even post some 1 cent auctions with all this information about Auction Road and how much they suck.
Avoid Auction Road like the plague!
Also, their images are hosted on www.hudrefund.com, so I'd watch out for them too if they're owned by the same people.
