I can't understand what would motivate anybody to ignore all the instincts that come built into the human body. You come equipted with everything you need to survive. You just need to listen to your warning signals. In the book "the gift of fear" the author explains how people react in a time of danger. Your body will sense an attack before it happens. Maybe it's the persons voice, or their behavior. People will say that they have a feeling in the pit of their stomach. Their mind has sensed danger and is preparing them. Animals instinctively run when this happens.
This guy was lucky. Next time it could be much worse for him. The lesson here is when something feels wrong, it is! Get out while you still have the chance.
