If I could give zero stars I would.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!! They are unqualified, unresponsive and just plain liars.

I called them to check out a report of a non-working gas dryer at a newly acquired rental property.  The technician went to the house for a brief time and left me a message saying the gas control valve was bad.  He said it was a very expensive part and I should simply buy a new dryer.  I tried to call him back over the next few days and never got an answer or a response.  Finally, 5 days later he answered and explained what the part was and that it was over $200 and I should get a new dryer.  So I did just that and bought a new dryer for $533 on top of the service call fee which they charges $140 for.

The installers called me the day of the installation and said they installed the new dryer.  However, it didn’t work so they started looking around.  In minutes, they determined that the gas pipe to the dryer was simply disconnected and the dryer wasn’t getting gas.  In essence, the Authorized Appliance technician, James, did not even check to see if gas was being supplied to the dryer.  He simply made up his findings.

I’m not a dryer technician but if I had to troubleshoot an issue with a gas appliance the first thing I’d do is to make sure it was getting gas.  From here it gets worse.  I repeatedly called Wayne Snover, the service manager.  He continued to give me the run-around and say that his technician heard gas and that the tenant must have removed the gas pipe.  Are you kidding me?

To make it worse, I had to call repeatedly for updates and he avoided my calls.  He finally admitted that his technician failed to do his job but I did not get a refund or any form of remediation.  What they did is almost criminal and I have a case pending against them in small claims court.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!!

Unjustified Faust Report Unrealistic Customer

AUTHOR: service tech - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, April 01, 2014

I am the service Manager Wayne, with Authorized Appliance Service  Parkway Appliance has nothing to do with us so this report is factually wrong, Just like the person that filed ths report. With this customer the real story goes as follows. A Mr Anthony Fiorino contacted out office to service a Maytag gas dryer on 3/10/14. Job was scheduled on 3/12/14 Customer was told the service fee would be 129.95 for the trip fee diagnostics and labor time to repair the machine fixed or not fixed plus parts, which he agreed to. Our Technician James got to the home to find a washer and a dryer crammed into a closet 3 foot by 10 foot to work in. Regardless of the tight space he took apart the front of the dryer to make his tests to find all parts checked good except for the gas valve assembly. He confirmed the gas shut-off valve in the rear of the machine was turned on and assumed that no one tampered with the home hookup of the gas supply since a hot water heater in the closet and a gas stove in the kitchen was working just fine.

He had also asked the tenant that was there to go to the basement to see if any other shutoff valves may be in the line. He was refused access to the basement by the tenant, they told him he could not get in there at this time.  He called myself to get a price to quote for the Landlord (anthony) for a gas valve because at least that was bad and it would be the mimium amount needed to repair the dryer and I told him the valve would be 195.00 for the part besides the service call fee. He called the Landlord and was told it is to old and and did not want to invest into the repair. He was charged the service call fee of 129.95 only. Customer then purchased a new dryer and when it was installed, that machine was not working also. I as the Manager went in person to check out what was the reason for this problem. and now were given access to the basement to look at the hookup. The area the the dryer was under was in a crawl space and after looking further I found the pipe going to to dryer was not connected and the pipe that did go there in the past was now running the hot water heater in the closet. I then called anthony to report the findings and asked him who would have done this? He then told me he just purchased the home and did not know anyone bypassed the pipes and ask me to hook it back up. I told him you must be a licensed plumer in the state of New Jersey to do any of that work.  He then said since it was not a dryer problem he should have his money back. I told him the valve checked bad and that may have been why the old owner disconnected the pipe in the first place. He was unreasonable and said I will take you to court and make sure I lose a lot of business.

As a good faith measure I told him we did out part and beyond on a second trip to figure out what the reason for the new dryer not working at no charge.  I also offered him a free service call on any other appliance in the future but he refused it. As far as being a liar unqualified and unethical. My rebuttal would be we have been in business since 1974 and not one bad report with the Better Business Bureau in all those years. Also Angies list has all good reports on our service. We are proud of our Technicians and the work they do and one loud mouth with internet access to post untrue statements will not put a dent in out reputation. you be the judge !
