I went into Autobility on Saturday, January 19, 2013 with the intent to purchase a used vehicle. Jim Glasner, the Sales Manager is the representative that assisted me and my daughter. I test drove a couple of vehicles and decided upon a 1998 Buick Century. I was told by Jim if not satisfied that within 72 hours I could return the car to exchange it. Then I asked how much is the vehicle because there are no prices listed on the cars and he told me that Jennifer, I believe is her name (Finance rep) would go over all of that with me. Then he says by the way so that they can skirt around some legal verbiage they call their program a lease with option to buy but that I was purchasing. That should have made red flags go off but because I am a single mom who was in desperate need of a vehicle, I trusted that these people were not trying to scam me but were instead trying to help me. A different man came from out of an office and was giving me other papers to look at and to sign, almost like a shell game and before you know it I was signing papers. Jim then had his hand out wanting my down payment, which I gave him $700. However we had not completed the full transaction because I was supposed return on Feb 2, 2013 with an additional $300 to complete the $1000 down payment. I also did not have any $ to pay for insurance so they gave me 72 hours on the dealer insurance. I returned vehicle before I purchase insurance. After meeting with the Finance Representative, she told me that if I was not satisfied that I could return the car within 72 hours which was yesterday, January 22,2013. The vehicle turned out to be a gas guzzler, the spare tire was rusted and I just was not satisfied and returned to their location at 10am Tuesday morning along with a co-worker who met me there to take me to work. Jim Glasner arrived and I met with him and told him that I was not satisfied and felt that I had been scammed and that they took advantage because after reviewing the 1998 Buick Kelly Blue Book value, the vehicle is worth $3780 and that my contract was almost $13,000. I gave him the keys and told him that I wanted my $700 back and he told me that he was not going to give it back. I told him that they target women, people with bad credit and those who feel they don't have options. This company has no ethics or integrity. So instead of returning my money, after I returned the vehicle to them within the 72 hours that I was advised to do, Mr. Jim Glasner says that he is going to let the vehicle sit on his lot until my first payment is past due and then report me to the credit bureaus as a Repossession. That is wrong, it's unethical and downright dirty. They have the vehicle, they have my money and they also want to report this as a repo when they are in possession of the vehicle. If this is not against the law, it ought to be and this type of scam should not be allowed against consumers such as myself who went into their establishment with good faith to do business with a reputable company. They are predatory in how they conduct business. Do not go to this company, please heed my warning ! It's been an expensive lesson for me, so don't make my same mistake. They lack integrity. ethics and this so-called lease w/option program is like a predatory payday loan company... Run, Run, Run..Autobility is not where you want to do business.
