So my boyfriend started his bank January of this year and we had no issues with it till we started using the debit card more offten. I noticed that my balance would shift around and I got onto my online banking and noticed that there was an overdraft fee. I called the bank and asked what it was for I had a negative of $32 I do belive and they said I had made a purchas with NSF and first of all I was supposed to have overdraft protection. but that didnt kick in I had verbal comfrimation that if I was short money my card would not work. However I asked if the deposit I made had gone through yet and they said it was made after the Overdraft. I assured them I went to the bank on my way to the mall and there should still be about 40 in my account. After making the lady read me off the time stamp on my deposit and on my purchuse go figure it was a comuter error so they dropped that charge.
A few months had passed and we had a few issues but nothing they would fix after a few yelling matches. Then we decided to go down to LA for my boyfriends birthday and we had about 200 in the account. So I stopped and got gas at a local gas station and we headed out. we got there and I think I made 3 transactions and I got on the phone just to check the balance and we where overdrawn 9 bucks at the time. So we didnt stop to eat and we just came home. As soon as I got to town I made a deposit with the rest of the cash that I had and when I called in the next morning I was over drawn 70 something bucks. I was amussed at how they managed to come up with this amount so asked them to lay it out for me. They explained that several things had not posed till a few days after they where bought and that I understood I spent maybe 150 or so in the past few day including out of town but the manager made it very clear that I had apaerantly bought things without remembering. So from what they told me my account had overdrawn when I got gas that moning but I didnt see how that was possible seeing as how I made sure there was money in there 20 minutes before at 7AM.
Basicly by the end of their jerking me around I paid the 70 to save my credit and bank record and as soon as I got done I went and cashed my check and pulled it all out and took my business elsewhere. They told us it would take a few days to close out the account but since the notes where on there I wouldnt have to worry. Till I got another bill from them with yet another overdraft fee from them charging their monthly service dues with no money. So I called yet again and asked what was going on and they said I didnt close the account in time and I knew when the charges where due. So they made it clear that it was my problem not theirs. So yet again I shelled out my own money and paid it. All was said and done and the checking was closed. However I get another bill and I call again and tell them I'm not paing it and the lady calms me down and says "We understand we are not charging you for the checking account that is already closed. You didnt close your savings account." So I went and closed out everything but not without them charging me 90 bucks whick one of those fees should have been canceled and I have paperwork on that.
Its amazing to me that no sooner than when they lose bailouts its the very people that still trust these morons with their money that start getting robbed blind. I'm discusted by their actions and morals as a company.
Something must be done with Bank of America and its shady work ethic. I guesse its true what they say. THE BEST WAY TO ROB A BANK IS TO OWN ONE. I for one am sick of paying their way and would like their gruby hands out of my pocket.
