I HAVE WRITTEN MANY TIMES BUT GET NO REPLY AND NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WE OWE $15,000 ON A TIMESHARE AND $3000 MAINTENANCE FEES ON SOMETHING WE HAVE NEVER USED.....I DONT THINK THIS IS FARE?????? WHAT SHOULD WE DO????
THIS IS THE ON GOING LETTER I MAIL BLUEGREEN AND WILL KEEP DOING SO UNTIL I GET A RESPONSE :
I have on many occasions now since purchasing this fraudulent holiday scheme, HAVE NEVER ONCE BEEN ABLE TO BOOK NOT EVEN ONE PLACE..... Not only that I am a current active military member and we were told on those two occasions the maintenance fees would be waved, to our surprise we have noticed thru the net there are many many class action law suits against your company for the same reasons we are in the position we are in. We have written and telephoned your company over the past three years to advise you we are in EXTREME financial hardship. I unfortunately do not make enough money to cover the situations we are going through at this time!
I have mentioned to you we are caring for my mother who is a non resident and has become worse with cancer since arriving last year, she is unable to travel and we are only on a small health insurance plane for ourselves not for my mother. In saying this we have no insurance for my mother and we have to provide her with all her medications and hospice care aswell as any other medical costs that occur, we are nearly on the verge of bankruptcy but as last time i spoke to you on the phone you did not seem to care about the situation we were in you only cared about paying the maintenance fees. If we can not book a place to vacate at every time we call WHY ON EARTH SHOULD WE PAY MAINTENANCE FEES for something we have NEVER USED........I suggest you get your damage control people to contact us immediately or we too will have no option to join the new class action suit that about to take place.
Even though we have NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT FOR THE SO CALLED "Mortgage" on the deed at Myrtle Beach SC....we can not afford the maintenance fees and really why should we pay them when WE CAN NEVER get to book anywhere. Every time i have come back from a tour to Iraq and we want to "get away" you are ALWAYS Booked or we have to use MORE of our points than necessary. I and many many others believe this to be Scam and not only are we talking to the new Class Action suit again Bluegreen but I am so appalled I want to go to every media coverage there is about this. I have many resources since I am in the military and I can not believe you fraudulently advertise and suck people in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must add i am APPALLED AT THE WAY YOU HAVE HANDLED THIS SITUATION, NO HEART NO COMPASSION AND CERTAINLY NOT CARE FOR CLIENT...
WELL IF YOU THINK I WILL ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO SIGN UP FOR BLUEGREEN OR HAVE DEALINGS WITH YOUR COMPANY, SURE OF COURSE IF WE PAY YOUR BILL YOU LOVE IT BUT ONCE SOME ONE COMES IN HARDSHIP YOU DONT CARE.....I WISH I COULD WRITE TO CONGRESS ABOUT YOUR LACK OF COMPASSION BUT I KNOW IT WOULD NOT DO ANY GOOD
TO think I served 4 terms in IRAQ TO SAVE YOU...WELL IT SHOWS REALLY HOW MUCH THE AMERICAN REALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR OWN!!

I'm not sure why you expect Bluegreen to waive maintenance fees for you and other military, however.
Depending on where you are looking to stay, last minute bookings can be found, though ideally you could book something 11 months in advance.
Why not find family or friends who would like to stay at a Bluegreen property. If you charge them the amount that would cover your maintenance fees, that would take that burden from you.

Timeshare Owner Responsibility

Bluegreen's website has FAQs and information that is important for owners to learn. They publish various periodicals as well, that owners receive, and these are online as well.
Unhappy owners are often those who did not do their research, after their purchase. Everyone has a given time period after their purchase to change their mind. People who do not turn to the internet to learn everything they can about their purchase, need to take responsibility for the decision THEY made to purchase Bluegreen points.
The key is to learn all there is about the product THEY purchase..
There are many happy Bluegreen owners ....owners who have taken the time to understand what they have purchased, and how to use it.

They do recommend that you book anywhere from 2-11 months in advance. A timeshare is not a good option if you want to book at the last minute, but this is true for all timeshares, not just Bluegreen. Although they do have a list on their website of locations available for last minute booking, and they have helped me over the phone to try to find other options, like nearby resorts, or even booking one room for a few days then switching to a new room for the remainder of the days I wanted to book.
Bluegreen is not required to waive maintenance fees. We have had financial difficulties, and we called them and they were happy to arrange a payment plan for us.
I have had nothing but excellent experiences with all of my experiences with Bluegreen, including all of our resort stays and interacting with their helpful staff over the phone. Bluegreen is not a fraudulent scheme.
