Blue Haven pools will tell you everything you want to hear before you sign the contract but the minute you sign it you become just a number to them. They are rude and does not have any customer service at all.

Here are a few of my complaints against them:

1. They promised that it will take 70 working days from excavation to pool completion. My pool was excavated in August 2004 and was not "completed" until the end of February 2005. I'm sure there are more than 70 working days within those 7 months.

2. The excavators (sub-contractors) damaged a portion of my garage roofing when the equipment operator accidentally hit it with the jaw of the equipment. They have replaced the tiles and the wooden plank but to this date they still have'nt painted the wood.

3. They applied the plaster even though it was slightly drizzling that day. Now my pool has ugly streaks and discolorations all over. I tried calling the construction representative "Jessie" that they assigned me but a guy named "Emmanuel" told me that Jesse no longer has anything to do with it and we should talk to him(Emmanuel) only. Emmanuel never returns my phone calls.

4. Four days after plaster was applied and the pool was filled they sent out the "pool start-up" team who did not supply me any printed material with regards to caring for my pool. All they've given me was verbal instructions. How can they expect me to remember everything?

5. Additionally, when the start-up team turned the pool pump on, there was no power to it. They had to call the office and it took Blue Haven 2 weeks to send somebody out to fix it.

6. I had paid $600 extra to put in spray heads for my pool. When the "start-up guys" showed up, they asked me if I had the heads. I told them that Blue Haven informed me that the start-up people are bringing them. It took them another month to install the spray heads.

The last time, I talked to Emmanuel was the beginning of June and he informed at that time that he would send somebody out immediately since there is no reason for a new pool to have any discoloration. To this day (Aug 19, 2005), I have yet to hear from him. Everytime I call his line, the voice mailbox is always full.

The bottom line is if you're thinking of having a pool built, stay away from Blue Haven Pools Ontario since they will never live up to your expectations. They are also very rude, unreliable, and do not provide the customer service that we as consumers deserve. I have 2 sisters and a brother who had pools built since I had mine built and I advised them not to do business with Blue Haven Pools Ontario and thankfully they heeded my advice. I hope you do too.

I feel your pain!

Peter,

I too have dealt with Jesse and Emmanuel and have had the same response. Can you believe Emmanuel even hung up on me once! I am only 34 years old and have been put on high blood pressure medication because of the undue stress this company has caused me. Unfortunately, they dont care.

Your best bet is to file a complaint with the CA State Contractors Licesing Board - thier website is: http://www.cslb.ca.gov/ go under the Consumers tab and you will find the information to file a claim. I did, and have an investigator assigned to my case - I am now waiting for him to contact me. From what I understand, this is not a quick process, but worth the time for justice!

I am hoping that if we can get enough customers that file compalints against Blue Haven, we will be able to save others from enduring the same heart ache and possibly be compensated for all thier wrong doing.

If there is a lawyer out there reading this - contact us! I am sure we would have a great class action lawsuit!
