There has been a lot of discussion about this and denials from Bodog.  I'm here to tell you, DO NOT play Blackjack on Bodog with real money.  After 100's of hands, I have NEVER, not once, gotten a 10 card when I double down. When I bet big, I push or lose over 90% of the time.

They will say that 10's of thousands of hands must be played before a user experience can be statistically significant.  While technically true, I've been playing for 40 years, and I have never, ever experienced results like this.  It is WAY off the map of normal wins and losses.  The house wins far too many times during normal play, such as rarely busting on bust hands, and the player loses a huge percentage of the time when playing by the book.

Ignore the denials, and stay away, stay away, stay away.

Bodog Blackjack

AUTHOR: mysteryguest - (United States of America)

So here is what I have figured out about Bodog Blackjack after playing way too many hands.

I charted a couple thousand hands and the Player/deal win percentages come out relatively close to expectations.  But there is a catch...

Bodog wins the hands that matter.

1.  Double Down Hands - 10 or 11 vs Dealer 3-6:  Keep in mind that these hands greatly favor the player; yet, Bodog wins about 3 out 4 double down hands.
2.  Splits - Again, player only splitting when it favors him/her.  Again, Bodog wins about 3 out 4.
3.  Hands after a player increases bet amount.  Oh my!  This is where Bodog gets murderous.  Say you're a $10 player, and you increase to 20 after a rare double-down win.  Bodog will go on a winning streak that is unconscious.  After you lose about 16 of 20 hands and lower your bet back down, then the software plays fair again or may even give you a bit of a win streak.

I wrote to Bodog regarding this, their answer is basically that I won a fair percentage of the hands.  Which, I cannot argue.  The session I wrote about was 48% dealer, 44% player, 8% push.  So, in order to pass audits, Bodog has to keep the player/casino win percentages somewhat in line with expectations.  So their way of compensating is to win double downs (2x the money, same number of hands) and larger bets.  After they deplete your bankroll to the point where you must decrease bets, then it lets you win the smaller bets for awhile.

If you want to play Blackjack on this site here is my advice:

1.  Keeps plenty of hands (30-40) in your bankroll.  Bodog can wipe out a 20 hand cushion in minutes.
2.  Increase your bets after a blackjack and only by the Blackjack win amount.  As soon as you lose 1 hand, decrease your bets back to your baseline.  Protect against Bodog hitting a 10 hand streak on your larger bet amount.
3.  Shy away from double-downs and splits, unless you seem to be on a roll.  If you're on a losing streak...do NOT double-down or split.  Protect against the big dealer run.
4.  When it seems like the dealer is on a roll...log out.  Wait 30 minutes and try again.
5.  After you have a nice run, log out as soon as the dealer wins about 3-4 in a row.  Wait 30 minutes before coming back.
6.  If you want to make a significant increase to your base bet amount...log out and wait 30 minutes.

The biggest thing is to try and guard the big dealer runs.  Immediately lower your bet on a dealer win.  Chart your hands, you can pick up a pattern and increase your bets when it seems like you are due for a few wins.

I turned $200 into $6000 by folowing these rules.

TST and GA have independently certified Bodog software to be random in outcome and fair in operation

AUTHOR: BodogBecky - (Antigua and Barbuda)

Hi, I am the Global Brand Ambassador for BodogBrand.com.  In response to this complaint:

Just like in any casino, the blackjack games that Bodog.com (and all other Bodog brand licensees) offer have a house edge.   That said, these games are still built on a foundation of probability, and the RNG software has been tested and certified by two separate, independent, internationally recognized and accredited testing facilities: Technical Systems Testing (TST) and Gaming Associates (GA). Both TST and GA have independently certified Bodog software to be random in outcome and fair in operation. Both of their rigorous testing procedures involve the examination of the details of the RNG algorithms, system architecture details relevant to the implementation of RNG components and their security, source code for RNG algorithms and calls to the RNG for any purpose (e.g., shuffling algorithms), analysis of 10 Megabytes of RNG output data for statistical diehard testing and game logs for each type of game.

If you think you have a valid complaint, I suggest presenting your case to the regulator of the Bodog brand licensee on which you are playing.  In this case, the regulator of Bodog.com is the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC).

Thank you,
Becky
