They sold my daughters book, the store in College Park , MD never paid her.  We have the print showing where they list her book was sold, told her to come pick up the check my the 9th, she went to the store on the 8th, the manager (who is non professional and vey rude) stated "WE MAILED IT OUT EARLY". If she was in dire need of money she shoud have came right away. She never received a check from them, I have a pending case with the at the Better Business Bureau Washington, DC office.

Your daughter personally picked up her reissued check from our store on Dec. 15, 2010. Some worker from the store by the name of James Woody, write a response to our complaint. As you can see below we did what he asked of us and we have yet to hear back from them  in any form of communication.  He stated he had tried to contact us that is a lie, all phones are working, all internet connections are working and have been at the same address for over 30 years.  THIS COMPANY IS A RIPOFF FOR SURE AND I AM GOING TO GO AFTER THEM TOP THE FULLEST. I AM SURE MY DAUGHTER IS NOT EH ONLY ONE THEY HAVE DONE THIS TOO.

Stating you were trying to reach out to us, asking to contact you about you recutting a check for CLARA B HAWKINS. What time on Monday or Tuesday can my daughter and I pick up the check. We also received a note today from Better Business Bureau stating our case has been transferred to the BBB of Greater Maryland 1414 Key Highway, Suite 100 Baltimore, MD 21230-5189 for them to keep track of the case it was being handled by the DC office. The sooner we get the matter corrected the sooner we can drop our case. Taking charge, moving forward, CLARA B HAWKINS ANNIE HAWKINS TURNER

We apologize for any distress your daughter may have felt when she came to our store to get her check. Normally checks are sent out within seven days of being printed (the check was printed on Nov. 1), and it seems to just be an error of timing. The check was however sent to your daughter's listed address, and should have arrived the next day (as it is normally a one day shipping estimate). We have also tried contacting you in hopes of getting more information regarding the situation and your daughter's information so that we may take the appropriate actions, but have yet to receive any response.

If you would like, we would be able to re-issue the check to your daughter, and if you were to request, hold it for her at the store or once again mail it to her address. We want to make sure that she absolutely gets paid for her sold books. Please feel free to email James Woody at jwoody@bookholders.com for what you would like to do, along with any questions or comments.
