Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, there was a run on gas. people were frantically running for gas at the pumps before the prices went up drastically from the hurricane.
I went to the Bp oil gas station on the corner of medlock bridge and abbotts bridge in duluth ga. i put my credit card in at the pump and it did not go thru.
i went into the store and asked why the pump did not accept my credit card. the man said it was because i have to pre- pay. I charged 20.00 and went back to the pump. no gas came out! i went back to the store and the person said that there is no gas.

i kindly asked for a refund and the man said not to worry, it will not post, since i did not get gas. by then there were 4 other people, ( some getting rather irrate, demanding their money back). the service person kept on saying that it will not post. this episode happened around 8:30 p.m. friday evening.

when i got home, i notified my credit card co. the card co said this was fraudulant, and to call back monday to see if indeed the charge posted. i called monday, and the charge did post. i called the BP and talked to someone there. they made it sound like i can get my credit if i come to the station. i told them that i was on my way. when i got there, the lady employee said that the only one that could issue a credit was the manager, and that he is gone at a meeting and will return tomorrow.

i went back the following day. ( today- tuesday) and they refused to issue me a credit. the man said to wait until i get a physical statement showing the posting did go thru. i told him that it already posted with my credit card company, and that i would appreciate it if they even give me gas or something for the amount of money that i had put on my card. he said he could not do that. so, it looks like i got ripped off. i know that there were many, many people that evening when i was in the store that were ripped off as well. this is not a way to do business. it is taking advantage of the consumers in dire need of gas!!!

i hope you can help get this dispute rectified. my credit card company said that despite the fact that i have the receipt, i really don't have the actual proof that i did not receive gas. there was NO gas to be had at that station and people were putting charges on their credit cards left and right!! this is fraudulant work!

well the only thing I can say is that how did you get gas? If you didn't get gas from that gas station. Did you drive to another gas station in the mean time.

If you used your credit card to buy gas at another gas station. You then would have proof you didn't get your gas. The credit card company knows when each transation occured. They track that information due to secuirty measures. Usally cops or FBI usally use those times to track people.

I am sure if you used that same credit card at another gas station to buy gas. It would be good enough proof that shows you didn't get gas at the first gastation that you tried to get gas from.
