B.P.
On April 10 th 2008, I was traveling thru Brownsville, Tn and stopped for gas just before I was to travel I-40. I had less than of a tank of gas at the time. I pulled into the BP gas station named as followingI -40 Family Pantry on 2595 Anderson Ave Brownville, Tn. I prepaid and used pump #7. I put in 20 dollars, and I believe that the price was 3.29 per gal. I think that should be a little over 6 gallons of gas. I was trying to be able to make it to Dickson, Tn, which I noticed the price of gas was 3.19 or 3.17 the day before. During the time that I was gassing up, I noticed a large drill setting up, in the parking lot. During the pumping of the gas, I notice that they were filling in 4 holes that they had drill including one about 5-10 feet from where pump 7 was. I watched as I saw one of the guys bend down, and lift some of the dirt from the drill shaft, and place to his nose and smell the dirt. I finished pumping the gas, and started back on the road to Nashville. Every thing was uneventful, until about exit 160 or so, which means that I traveled about 100 miles, when I noticed as I was trying to pass a truck, that I was losing power, and that I could not pass him, I pulled over to the right lane, and the Jimmy, dropped down to 55 before it started to slowly gain speed, but I had to press very lightly on the gas petal. I glanced at all my gauges, and seen the everything appeared to be alright. I did notice that I was a little under a of a tank, and again, I knew that I was trying to hit the next, to buy gas at 3.17. Also, if I was having trouble, there was a lot more place there for help. I pulled into the Pilot, gas station, in which the car was running a little rough. I shut down at the gas pump, and checked the oil, and was gonna restart the Jimmy. At this time, the Jimmy would not restart. I thought that it was acting like, I had water, or trash in the fuel system. At this, time, I looked across the street and saw a Chevy Dealer, so, I went over there and had the Jimmy towed over to them. They, then called down, and had enterprise come pick me up, so I could rent a car, to get home.

I had the dealership call me the next day, and informed me that I had bad gas in my tank, and that it caused the fuel pump to fail, and also the fuel injection. I told them to repair it, due to me need the car for work, and travel. I then looked up the number of the gas station, I have the receipt. And I asked to speak to the manager, or owner. I got a call about a hour later from someone, I didnt catch his name, but I thought that he said something oil. I explained to him what happened, and he stated that he was sorry, for my trouble, but that there was nothing that he could do. I disagreed with him. In such, that I told him, that I would not just let this settle. I explained to him, that I will have a sample of the gas, trash. And water, from the Dealer. He also claimed if it was water/gas from him, I wouldnt have gone a mile down the road. Again, I disagree, I did not put anymore gas in it, after I got the 20 dollars from that station, and also, I had just replaced the fuel pump, and had the filter replaced, and tank dropped and cleaned on 3/11/08 less than one month before. The Pump was replaced due to having a bad gauge on the Jimmy for well over 3 years, and you have to replace the Fuel pump due to the gauge is part of it. He again, stated, that he has monitors, and that he has no water in his gas. I asked then why are you coring checking soil sample. He states that that has nothing to do with this.

I have placed a call to you folks due to it my be owned my Mr Stuart, or who ever but it is controlled by you, it is your name. I ask that a fair investigation be done, by your company. If it is the Stuart Group, they already have done theirs, without, even seeing or hearing all that there is. As you can see, I want to be made whole on this issue. At this time, I am asking that someone ( BP or Stuart) pay for the repairs, and to the rental, for the night, to make me whole. If I need to spend a lot of time, or any cost, then, it was also change the asking of making me whole. At this time, I have spent more that on phone calls, and this is without, me having to drive another 2 hours out of my way to retrieve my car.
Facts,
I had the tank cleaned out, and new fuel filter and pump less that one month ago, I have a receipt, that I will send. And the owner of the shop that will testifiy to that.
I got gas, just before I got on I-40 at less than tank and I broke down with less that and the last gas in was gas in question.
I seen, that they were coring dirt samples.which means that He knows that he has a gas leak. Which you then get water in your tank also.
I am asking that you investigate, I can go to the EPA, to find out if the site was being cored for dirt samples .

Please let me know as to what BP will do in trying to make this right.
THANK YOU

This is a report that BP had me write, and send to them, after I contacted the customer relations line a few days after the break down. They WERE very polite and responded within a day of a follow up letter. I HAD thought, that they were taking care of things......but here is the update...
I call today, after one month of waiting for someone to contact me about this bad gas. BP's customer relation, gave me a run around, stating that it was privately owned, and that "they" needed to find the solution for me. I told them, that I disagree, that the name on the station, was BP....they told me that they do not own it, so, they did all that they could, Again, I disagreed with her, stateing that THEY, sell the gas, and I have bad gas....and it is thier name...she told me that she was not gonna argue with me, that they did all that they could, again, I told her, that I wanted to speak to a supervisor, in which she stated, that she was the supervisor, I said, fine, if that is the case, I want to speak to the manager.....she said, that there was nothing more that they could do. I then, explained, that I didn't care when, I pulled into a gas station, or McDonalds, if it has the name of a large company on it, they take care of you, not just push some paper, and make excuses, after all, I didn't know, that the station was owned by Stuart and Sons, so, with that, I will never again, buy gas from a BP, and recomend that no one else does. She hung up on me.......some customer relations. At one time, I stopped talking for over 1 min, and I could tell, that she had not be listening to me, I had asked a question, met with silence.
The update is that it is not owned by cox....but by Stuart and sons. EPA is reporting that they have had issues with that station in the past. I am out 1500.00 dollars at this time, and only looking for someone to step up and make this right. I am really driving on this for principal now. BP....shame on you. BP sells the gas to Stuart and sons, and somewhere, I got water in my tank.....and as the rep, that called me the first day, I think you are right, if you have water in your tank, it sinks, and the pump will pick it up, BUT, if you are driving non-stop, for 1.5 hours, that gas can stay mixed with the water. It was only when, I got real low, in gas,....the same amount, when, I did get gas from them, that the problem starts. Let's face it, BP turned it right back to the guy, who will have to foot the bill, what is he gonna say??? NOT ME...
BP, you should rethink, how you treat your customers, And as your rep kept telling me, you have nothing to do this this.....again, I disagree, You sell the gas, and the name........and your reputation. We all make choices, too bad that you and Stuart and Sons, don't make the right one. If you as gassing up at a BP, just please remember, you read this, and something like this could happen to you. At least at Mcdonalds, the corp office, WILL make it right, if the burger stand is owned by....joe average....the thing is, they have it right...the customer is always right.
Thanks
