I came into Backyard Leisure expecting to have a good expierence that was not the case. I left a sizeable deposit on a hot tub on 11/26 which is a Friday.  I told the Sales person who I now findout is the sleezy owner that I would need to think about it.  On December 2nd I went to a few other spa stores and realized I was getting ripped off and asked for my deposit back.  I came in around 430pm and they were all drinking beer and reeked of alcohol.  I asked for my deposit back and he became rude claiming he lost a sale. 


I told him he was acting very unprofessional and asked to speak to the owner.  He informs me that the owner is Chris Scott and that is him.  He told me that he was going to keep my deposit and there wasnt s**t i could do about it.  This was after he was stumbling around drunk. 


I told him I would report him to the BBB and he laughed and said who cares.  This company is run by an immature idiot who definitely needs to grow up.   I will NEVER shop there again.

I'm shocked by the first comment made about Backyard Leisure and its owner!  First of all, we were told right away that once a deposit is made, that it is non-refundable, since it automatically orders your custom-made hot tub by Bullfrog...not sure about the other brand(s) carried, but Mr. Scott was very clear to let us know that up front.  Secondly, we found him to be the most professional small business owner we have ever encountered!  He let us know he was just starting his business in December when we purchased our hot tub, and by the amount of time he spent explaining things to us and his courteous manner, he is NOT the type of person to say he wouldn't care if he was reported to the BBB--quite the opposite!  He really appreciated our business, is trying to grow his business in a poor economy, AND continues to be respectful, professional, and courteous everytime I need to return for chemicals. 

I have to say that I was very impressed by Backyard Leisure and its owner, Chris Scott.  We had gone to numerous stores, wore our bathings suits, and tested out all the different hot tubs and were very disappointed that we couldn't find just the right one that had everything we wanted.  We did some research and found out about Bullfrog Spas and Hot Tubs and decided to go to Backyard Leisure to see the products...and we left there with the best hot tub EVER!  Mr. Scott took the time to explain the products in detail and he worked with us to find the best tub within our budget, while also working around the fact that we were having a new patio installed and needed to wait for delivery.  His customer service was outstanding and we left out of the store feeling like we made the best purchase for our dollar.  When they delivered the hot tub, they took their time answering all our questions and were very professional and courteous.  As I stated, I've had to return to the store for a few items (I purchased the arm for the cover and some more chemicals) and each time I've gone to the store, Mr. Scott remembered me and always treated me like I was his most valued customer.  He is truly a model of what a small business owner should be!  I highly recommend Backyard Leisure and the Bullfrog Hot Tubs!  Great Service and Great Products!

Really? After 15 years of dedicated service Robert and Norm with Rec Warehouse are stooping to this? This is crazy. We have been open 45 days and their is absolutely no truth to this what so ever! I GUARRANTEE! ALL of my customers are extremely happy! I called them all myself! I would be happy to provide anyone concerned plenty of happy customers to contact. Why not put up a copy of the order or a receipt to substantiate this ludicris claim? If I were Rec Warehouse I would focus on the customers they currently have to try and grow their business as opposed to waisting time on things like this. We are going to take the high road because those who lie will always fail in the long run. I am going to focus on giving my customers the highest level of customer service availlable anywhere. After all it is them who matter and it would be wise not to forget that (just a little advice).
