We signed up our puppies with Banfield in Chesapeake, VA, thinking it was a good idea. We moved to Florida and transferred everything down no issues there. We unfortunately had to give one up to a friend due a very bad car accident we were involved in and tried to cancel on pups insurance. We were told it was insurance and come to find out it is just a highly overpriced wellness plan. They told me I couldnt cancel the place until a year is up or pay for the service already used.(didn't agree with it but ok we informed our friends to use it we already paid for it.) While on the phone we told the gentleman with banfield corporate that the wellness plan will end in September, and my wife said excellent we definitely do not want to renew. While at the Petsmart for our dogs final routine puppy visit they informed us at the store that our account automatically renewed. We were informed by by the store to call corporate that they cannot do anything at the store level. We were under the impression by the young lady working the counter that this is our dogs' last visit as a puppy and the new dog plan will kick in. Low and behold, when we called the corporate office (rudeist and worst customer service ever, again) they informed us that it will cost us the remaining visits and the last visit now falls under the new plan. So for $4xx we can now cancel our plan for the last visit that only had 1 rabies shot, stool sample check, distemper, and bloodwork for heartworms. I called our local Vet to get a breakdown of their routine check ups and it was $93.50 for the same services.... Talk about Overcharging...
