My friend Jack has only 50 cents in his checking account. He went to Bank Of America to make a deposit of 20 dollars on 5-4-09 at 12:40 P.M. The next day 5-06-09 around 6:00Pm me and my friends decided go to quick trip and buy drinks, and chips and some food. Me and Jack went to McDonald's to rent some movies at Redbox. In my cell phone I have save some promotion codes for free rental. I used one of the codes and was approved. My friend has a debit card from bank of America and swiped it. A few days latter he check his balance and it has a pending overdraft fee of 35 dollars. He was angered because he putted in 75 dollars the day before he rented the movies. It was 6 pm and his money wasn't cleared up! The rep said sometimes is slower than usual. He told the rep that the rental is only one dollar which he didn't have to pay for because of the promotion code. The rep said but the dollar was charged when he rented and it brought him to the negative and theres nothing the rep can do about it. What angered me is that the dollar withdrawal from the redbox movie rental was only there temporarily. After the movie was return the dollar should of been restored back into his bank account. My friend had to pay an overdraft fee on money he never used. Its not his fault the pending should of been cleared earlier because he deposit the day before.
Bank Of America is a dirty bank and they make money from people's overdraft fees. Somebody needs to do something about this bank. What they are doing is just wrong. The bank that I go to doesn't do this to its customers unlike bank of america. If anyone plann of starting an account in bank of America one advise STAY AWAY that place is a rip off.
