BankCard USA sends out thousands of promotional advertisement cards when merchants open new businesses. The advertise free equipment, low rates and great 24/7 customer service.

When we contacted BankCard USA for our merchant credit card services we were assured we would get low rates, could exclude credit card companies we did not want to carry, and best of all, we would only have to pay $3.95 a month if we did not have any sales. Being a new business and not knowing how long it would take for us to get started, this was great news.

We negotiated the rates with our sales rep and were assured that this would be a month-to-month contract. This was helpful to us should our business stall at the gate or if we found another carrier who could provide better rates in the future.

Our first bill arrived with a fee for the equipment that was supposed to have been free and a $25.00 fee for lack of sales. When I tried to contact the company they asked me why I had opened an account if I wasn't ready to take credit cards or if I didn't know when or how long it would be before our business made a sale or... did I even read the contract.  Also, "sorry lady but you're stuck with this. Too bad".

When I got a phone call from my sales rep he informed me that he had left the company and he was so sorry about what he had done to me I was confused. He explained that he had left because he had discovered the dirty practices BankCard used and he was alarmed and quit. He said he knew he had not sent me a copy of the contract and he would make it "right" even if he had to pay BankCard off from his own pocket.

I know all of this sounds crazy but since BankCard does not wish to terminate my contract without a $295.00 fee, I want everyone to be aware of BankCard USA and do not use them for credit card services. They are a rip-off.
