I never received a statement with a balance and due date for this last cycle - I logged in to pay my account one day later than usual, not realizing my payment was over due as I usually have a statement that prompts me to pay. I was a day overdue and my balance due went from $86 to $200 dollars due immediately. This is the first time I have been late with this company. I scheduled the payment - with Christmas less than 2 weeks away - this was difficult financially to more than double my payment due. I also sent them a message regarding this inappropriate charge and increase in my monthly payment - I got a somewhat automated style message saying I can log in to my account to view my balance - and they understand it is frustrating - This is ridiculous! They do not send paper statements - therefore they must send electronic ones - they offered to automatic debit my payments - um NO - I live paycheck to paycheck like most Americans and I cannot afford to just have that money removed when they feel like it. I need statements in either paper or electronic form - again NOT my responsibility - but their's!!! So, I get a statement for next cycle today - convenient since I paid this cycle yesterday - and it says I owe them $200 dollars again for the following month - so I logged into my account to verify and sure enough they want another $200 - this is unacceptable that a credit card company thinks they can charge this kind of money monthly when my previous amount due was $86 and this is the first time I have been late - asinine and they should be fined for stealing from people that way!! I am a student who works part time and I am about to have a second child - I cannot afford to pay more than twice my usual payment a month!

Now they canceled my account!

So after receiving a second statement for 200$ and sending them a message that they are crazy for thinking this is ok - they have now canceled my account without any notice - Um I PAID my bill - so without warning they canceled me - what a crappy business and I originally opened this card to buy a MAC - I will not buy apple products anymore - especially since they endorse such shady companies as these!

You must have a large balance with them

Barclays has a website that you can access daily for free. You can check your balance and your transactions each and every day. But, regarding your issue about the minimum payment, you must have quite a large balance for your minimum to have increased to $200/month.

It is time for you to get some financial education and to take responsibility for your actions. Once you have a credit line opened up with the creditor (Barclay's or whomever) it is up to you to keep track of your transactions, your balances, your payments and your due dates. If you can't do that, then pay off the card and close the account because you are not showing any financial responsibility. You are liable for the entire balance due, not just the minimum payment. From your post, you haven't even addressed your balance, only the minimum payments. You refer to your payment as "your usual payment", if you continue the way you are going you will never be able to pay off the card.

I don't work for Barclays or any credit card company, but I am aware of the terms and conditions of each of my credit lines. Each of us, as adults, take on that responsibility when we agree to use the card.

You are in a spot now. Seems like a good time for you to either increase your hours at your current job or pick up another job. Yes, I read that you are due to have a baby, but it does not excuse you from your financial responsibilities. In fact, based on the fact you are due to be a mother (again) it is critical you review your financials right now to get your life back on track. Learn the tips to pay down your balance quickly and don't run it up again to beyond your capacity to pay.
