Barclays Bank Delaware-Juniper Bank Ripoff! Poor Customer Service Wilmington, Delaware
Soon after, they increased my interest rate from 12% up to 14.99% I called their customer service and asked why, while I never went over the limit, never was late on my payment or send a bad check! The Rep. told me that is due to economy crisis in the country, but the rep also told me that if I keep my account in good standings the interest rate will go down. I immediately closed that account and decided to pay it of as soon as possible. But they kept increasing my minimum payment so I never knew what to expect. Needles to say, they again increased my interest rate to 18.99% after I closed the account in April of last year. And again, I was never late to make a payment. I called their customer service but found no help there. Begin of February this year I took a loan from my credit union and paid off the remaining balance or what was on the last statement. But to my surprise there was another charge of $78.13! Called them again and I was told that I have to pay the interest rate for the month of February after I have paid of the balance on February the 2nd!!! I refused to pay that amount and requested to speak to the manager, I was cut off 3 times and had to call over and over again until someone named Joseph spoke to me and he just like all of his staff was repeating him self like broken record in bad English. That is when I filed an official report with BBB of Delaware.
I realized that if I don't pay that they will charge me even more, so I went on and I paid the $78.13 after that I wanted to check if everything is ok, but was denied access to my account! I called them again and I was told from one person that 60 days after the account is closed it will be deleted from online access, an other person told me that it will be deleted 6 months after is closed, but yet, I was able to access my account for 11 months after I have closed it. I asked if they can mail me my last statement but I was told that there will be charge of $3 per statement. I am in shock! I have never experienced something like this. If you are reading this to inform yourself about this company than STAY AWAY from them.
