Barclays Bank - Juniper Bank Company ERROR caused raised APR Wilmington Delaware
On 12/10/08 I mailed in 2 payments. One for each Juniper credit card. Each check was clearly marked with the account number for the corresponding account.
On 1/7/09 I received a collections call that one of my card payments was not received. In talking with the rep. (Matthew) we discovered that "both" payments had been applied to one acct. Matthew assured me that he was issuing a Case#, and applying credits for the late fees as well as transferring the payment to the appropriate acct.
On 1/8/09 I received yet another collections call. Once again I went through the error on Barclays part and was assured that this was indeed being fixed.
On 1/10/09 I emailed them via their website to once again foloow up and to this day have not gotten a return email of acknowledgement.
On 1/12/09 I called again and spoke with David. Mentioned that I have another payment coming due and would like to know that the appropriate credits have been applied so I send the correct amount. (After talking with David's supervisor I found out 100% of what David told me was "wrong".) David transferred me to Everett.....Everett then transferred me to Kelly (supposedly an account specialist). Kelly said the late fees were being credited "today" and the case that was filed earlier would take care of the APR being reduced back to 8.9%. Per Kelly I must pay the "higher payment" as is on my statement regardless of any errors or credits....their computer can't work around this situation so it will balance out down the road.
On 2/2/09 I checked the website again. Credits of my payment and late fee have been applied but nothing has happened to put my APR back to where it use to be. I wrote them a certified letter requesting for "again" that my APR be returned to where it was. This was THEIR error and I should not be punished for their mistake!!!
On 2/20/09 I received a letter that they had made the correction to my credit report for the late payment...it will take 30 days to reflect. However, there was NO mention of the APR being put back to 8.90%.
2/24/09 I sent another certified letter that I want my APR returned to my old rate IMMEDIATELY!! It was raised due to an error on their part. I also have provided them with copies of the bank checks showing the proper account numbers noted in the memo section. Never in my life have a had to endure so much nonsense getting a bank error fixed correctly. I wouldn't recommend anyone use this company. Their employees are not very well trained, their employee information is usually wrong....they just tell you what you want to hear to shut you up. No one is intelligent enough to handle the problem...they just pass you on to someone else. Horrible customer service.
