Bass Pro Corporate are crooks and theives
AUTHOR: R. west - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, October 10, 2011
In the lawsuit his attorney did not handle it well, at the day of trial his attorney stated he was not ready, but the court forced him to go to trial anyway. My friend spoke up and stated his attorney had not even completed discovery. The Judge (a friend) of the Bass pro attorney told them to go into the hallway and complete discovery.
After the accident, 9 employees of the store and over 10 at the corporate office dealt with the damage, but at trial, Bass Pro through its attorneys testified to the court that all those employees no longer worked there and they could not provide contact information. They claim no insurance claim was filed so they could not provide any insurance records. Bass pro also refused to turn over any forklift driver information, names, certification, etc. claiming none of the worked there any more either. Bass pro also testified that the video surveillance had gone out for that a 15 minute time span when the truck was struck.
Without any documents are testimony from the employees who handled it, or the forklift drivers themselves, He was forced to except less than even the damage to the truck was, he got nothing for their stalling and destroying his business.
The important part is what came after they settled that day. Within a week he discovered all the forklift drivers names, including the one who struck the pickup, who said he had been fired for it, and that it was captured on surveillance video. It was discovered that all 10 employees at its headquarters, and 8 of the 9 at the local store were still there, AND BASS PRO HAD LIED TO THE COURT ABOUT THEM NO LONGER BEING EMPLOYEED.
It was also discovered, and he has the documents on the fact that the lies and deception were due to the fact that it was there Grand Opening and someone at the headquarters had never extended the insurance policy to cover that new store. That was a violation of state law, county law, and city ordinance.
Everything Bass Pro Shops stated on the court record, was a lie a perjury. My friend then started taking attempts to correct the lies and get something done about it. The attorney for Bass pro refused to return his calls, so he sent a letter to Johnny Morris and the CEO of the board for Bass Pro.
Mr. Morris is just a figure head since the co. went public and has no power, the CEO has no daily control, he just sits on the board. They both instructed the headquarters and attorneys to correct what had happened, and not to put the company in a bad light. That was the right thing for them to do. The problem is the headquarters and the attorneys decided avoid having to admit what they did in open court, and the punishment that goes with that. So they decided to go back to the judge who was a friend, and asked for a restrain order to keep the victim from telling anyone or contacting anyone to do something about it.
That entire company from the head down is nothing but liars and crooks, even after they are proved to be lying they would rather spend thousands of dollars in a cover up, than admit a few employees crossed the line trying to hide the mistakes they had made, at the time of the Grand Opening and after the accident.
Take your Business to Academy, Cabelas, Walmart, or any other store but them. Liars do not deserve your business.
