Bee Improvements provided us with the worst service we have ever recieved. They do not return your phone calls, nor follow through on any promises or contracts made.

We invested a large amount of money into refinishing our basement. We were told that it would take 3 weeks to finish and that everyone we would encounter would be very professional and clean. The owner made us feel as though we trusted him and were in good hands.

The basement remodel ended up taking 8 weeks to finish, and we are still waiting on items in our contract that we never recieved. The owner will not return my calls and the company itself does not answer their phone.

This nightmare of a remodel started out with the project beginning 3 days late. We were not notified until the morning they were supposed to arrive, after the scheduled time they were supposed to be here. The day the project finally began, the wrong supplies were ordered, and the foreman never did show up in time for us to speak to him. The men kept showing up late, continues to smell like smoke, and were very loud and vulgar while speaking downstairs. Keep in mind that we had a one year old in the home throughout this whole time.

The owner promised us that things would get better. Supplies were continually not being paid for by the owner, therefore putting off the remodel day after day. I had to personally call the owner 10-15 times a day trying to get items paid for as the contractors could not get ahold of him and were just standing around downstairs. The foreman was rude over the phone and never did show up, so the owner hired new contractors. After the fact, I found out they were obtained through Craigs List and the owner did not even know them. This made me feel unsafe that these men would be in our home each day with my Daughter and myself alone.

Items continued to not be purchased by the owner, setting our project back even further each day. I had to make calls all day each day, just trying to reach someone to pay for our supplies. Eventually, 3 weeks turned into 8 weeks, and our basement was not finished for our out of town guests on Thanksgiving.

The owner and the project manager were rude, dishonest, and rarely returned our phone calls. For weeks at a time, we thought they went out of business as no one could get ahold of the company nor get any supplies paid for or ordered.

The basement has been partially finished now for 8 weeks and we still can not get ahold of anyone to finish the work. This was the worst experience of my life and I just want it to be over. This basement that we were promised would take 3 weeks to finish, took 8+ weeks and caused a lot of anxiety and stress in our home.

We will now check references and reviews extensively before hiring anyone for any services in our home. Everyone please be aware of this company and the owner Glen. He comes off as nice and trustworthy as he is trying to make the sale in your home. He turns into a very poor business owner that blames everyone else for his mistakes, and does not even try and fix them. Horrible, horrible experience.

Buyers need to beware

AUTHOR: Very Dissatisfied Customer - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Today I posted my complaint, very similar to yours. I've been keeping a journal and I probably could have written a book had time allowed.

We've given them ample time to rectify the issue but it has only gotten worse. It's clear that Bee-Improvements don't value or respect our business or time. This is completely unethical and I'm sure some lawyer would have a field day with this.

We've been waiting on our basement to be finished since the beginning of November. My husband and I put a pretty big chunk of money down so that we could finance a smaller amount. We are currently on payment number 3 and to this day our basement is no where near complete.

I'm sure there's others out there facing some of the same troubles. Should my situation change, I'll be sure to update. So far, this has been a total nightmare to say the least.

Very similar to our own experience!

Wow.
I just read your report, and it as if you live in our house! I am echoing the exact same things...
Glen Goddard gave a great intro at first...

But...
3 weeks have turned into 8... Phone calls not returned. (Until it's time to pay!) contractors quitting because not being paid. New contractors brand new to Bee Improvements...  Some days they come, some days they don't... we never know when or if they are coming?

To anyone out there... get EVERYTHING in writing... including timeline, or time frame of completion, or what will happen if there are lengthy delays...  Make sure everything looks good before you give money!

They are not done with our basement either... and it has been 8 weeks. (I am pleased with the contractors' work. Now, if they can just get it done!)

(BTW: If Bee Improvements does anything to rectify this situation... in terms of apology or discount or refund or extras, I will update this... Glen Goddard... Come on man!)
