at its best!

I am currently looking for work and have been applying to jobs through CareerBuilders.com as a result I receive multiple email confirmations a day and try to follow up with each one. I was sent an email through CareerBuilder.com by a Rick Ford of Belboss Consulting Agency. He said he wanted to hire me for a Customer Service Evaluator position to secret shop well known businesses. He didn't ask for any personal information except my name and address. He stated in the email that this was a part time position that didn't require training, that everything would be handled through email. I was to go to retail establishments and evaluate their services and report back. He told me I would get $200 for each evaluation I conducted.

Because the email came through CareerBuilder I felt that it was legitimate and replied that I was interested. I got an email a week or so later stating that he had heard back from a customer that they wanted me to evaluate, Western Union/Moneygram. I replied, again because it was through a legitimate job board I felt it was legitimate.

I got an email today stating that a check was coming in the mail for me in the amount of $2,850.00 with instructions on how to split the money up between two transactions and who to send it to and what to include in the evaluation email. I was instructed to keep $200 for myself as payment. (This is where it got sketchy)

I did receive the check Priority Mail from a Jmaes Marek in New Ulm, TX.

The issuing company on the check was International Students Northwest, and the bank the check was from is Banner Bank. I googled the bank and called their customer service number and was told that this was a fraudulent check and that they were aware of the situation and to shred it.

I would hate for someone to try to cash this check or deposit it and be out any money.

I am currently going through steps to resolve the employer status on CareerBuilder.com and consulting with an attorney.

DON'T BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY THESE PEOPLE!
