Have been a customer of BellSouth with my home number for 17 years, I diliked AT&t BECAUSE OF ALL THE BAD PUBLICITY. I did however have to use them while I was in the Military and it gave me a bad taste. I swore I would never be apart of them again. So having my home number and internet with bellsouth and my cell phones with cingular I was up set when the merger of all companies to AT&T. I had voiced this several times over the years while watching the things AT&T were doing to their customers. To my dismay AT&T not only bought one of my companies but all. First it started with the internet no problem after sending back three modems in less than 1 year I cancelled with the internet. Still waiting on my credit from them, I am told it is being processed everytime i call which is ever two weeks. nO NOTES OF MY CALL ARE BEING MADE ON THEIR END, JUST MINE. Then my phone bill gets changed to a differnt plan.
I have basic service at home no frills, but AT&T decided to change that without my permisson. After spending several weeks on the customer service and people that say they are supervisors I am still waiting on a refund also. Then to top it off both my cell contract with the go phone and regular cell were also bought out by you guessed it AT&T. The changed my rate plans again, no notice no calls no nothing. They have my email address, my home number, my address, my work numbers but no one called or wrote. nope I just get my bill or go on-line to check my statement and there it is all changed. I am so mad i can not stand it. My stress level exceeds the maximum. To no prevail I spent Friday afternoon Sept. 7th on the phone for a soild hour I was disconnected 4 times by the go-phone people. I was transfered twice by the regular cell phone customer service. I spent a total of 4 hours talking till I was so mad I threw my phone at the was. The go-phone people (no contract) will not refund my 97.07 to me they say they have no way of doing it.
Even though I used the same credit card to power it up. The BellSouth internet people are looking into it going on 3 months now! And finally the AT&T cell company people are investigating the problem for the last two months. Whoppee! If I owed them money you bet I would be getting a collection letter and theatening phone calls.
I did however change over my home number and internet to comcast good deal no contract to sign. My cell phone and go-phone I went and got new ones thru my partner that works at COSTCO thru T-Mobile. COSTCO offers 100 percent satisfaction or you money back! No hidden charges after the first year. I keep the same plan and number and it is backed by COSTCO.
So I am waiting for my money back and waiting to see what happens. How can companies be bought out and contracts sold with no notice how do they get away with changing the rate plans and not contacting you. I never heard of a company not being able to give a refund. Nothing in any contracts about this. I am at witts end. NEED help before I blow!!!!!!
