On 3/14/07 I approached the owner, Ron Yunis, about hosting my son's 5th bday party at his scoop shop in Moon Valley.On March 15, 2007, we agreed on a minimum number of guests, price, time for his party at the location. Ron told me a contract would be ready for me to sign. At this point, he already had a verbal (contractual) agreement with us to host my son's bday party. On 3/19/07 he promised to send me a contract that evening. I had informed him that I had mailed out invites over the weekend -- 3/17/07. On 3/26/07 I contacted Ron, the owner of B&J, again about the contract and he told me the following:
"Sorry Shawnna,
My wife and I were expecting our first this week and both families were in town and everything sort of got lost in the shuffle plus she still hasn't had the baby to we are on a terminal hold pattern.
Something has come up and I am not sure that the Moon Valley store will be available for the 14th. I know this could be a huge inconvenience for you, just having sent out invites, but would you able to have the party at the 67th Avenue store?
-Ron"
He doesn't apologize, doesn't acknowledge his obligation to his customer as we had a contract, but gave no explanation as to why we couldn't hold the party there anymore.
Ron doesn't know this but I'm married to an attorney so I had my husband email him. Ron cc'd this to the State Bar. Hello, the State Bar of AZ SUCKS!
And he still hasn't given us an explanation or an apology. At least he could compensate us for mailing out invitations to a bday party that won't exist!! Also due to the loss of time it took until today for me to find an alternative place to host a party b/c other places are booked solid! What a jerk. I won't ever eat there again and I will convince my friends/family to boycott them, too.

This Ben and Jerry's is awesome. The group of mothers and kids should have to pay the financial burden they created when they visited this shop in Phoenix multiple times and did not pay their financial obligations. I love B&J.

Ms Bollocks is your typical wants-everything-for-free trash. I cannot tell you the number of times she booked and brought in her mothers' group of 1-3 year olds into our store, made an unbelievable mess and purchased next-to-nothing.
She attempted to extort us to pay for multiple items including invitations as well as the party itself by threatening us- "my husband is a lawyer," blah blah blah.
We apologized, there were issues way beyond our control- the store was in the process of being closed, only we could not reveal those facts due to legal issues (at the time), AND there was never a signed contract nor a deposit (which is what is required for us to reserve a party), we get dozens of requests from people (like her) who never follow-through and we'd be broke if we booked parties and caterings without contracts and deposits.
We offered to host the party at another store not more than 7 miles from the original location along with other SIGNIFICANT concessions- she refused.
She filed a claim (and appeals) with the BBB, they repeatedly ruled in our favor- check it out:

"Resolved"- which in this case means they ruled in our favor, despite the fact that we are not BBB members, I felt the need to defend ourselves against this evil, greedy, dishonest woman who's self-professed claim to fame is that she is married to a lawyer.
We are happy to give dozens of references of people for who me have done multiple events for over the past three years- hers is the only complaint which we have EVER had.
