Well, I ordered Berman's free book and cd and agreed to pay the $3.95 for shipping. THEN I found this site and read all about how they include a set of DVDs you didn't order. You have a 30 day trial period in which you can return the DVDs if you don't want to keep them and you won't be charged the $99.90. If you don't agree to send them back, you will be charged the $99.90 on the card that was charged the original $3.95. Making this return policy combersome is the way this company makes it's money.

I got package today and, sure enough, there was the extra material I didn't order. After reading all the complaints on this site, I didn't even want to see if the material was of any value. I just wanted to be done with the company.

I immediately called the customer care number 877-237-6265 and got the usual heavily accented representative. After you tell them you don't want to keep the material, they offer a discount. If you keep refusing, they keep offering until they get all the way down to $9.90. If you continue to refuse to accept it and refuse to mail it back, you will be placed on hold a lot. I think it's intended as a sort of punishment, but be patient.

I told them I was a retired Postmaster (which happens to be true), and that I knew that anything unsolicited received in the mail is considered a gift and you are under no obligation to return it. I told them I was not going to return it and if they charged my account, I would report them to the Postal Inspection Service for mail fraud.

Then they put me on hold again. Finally I got another person who I could understand slightly better, but gave me no satisfaction, but kept saying I had all the facts I need to understand it's my responsibility to send it back or be charged. I told him you do what you gotta do and I'll do what I gotta do.

Right away there was an email in my inbox with mailing address information and a return authorization number, etc. Somewhere in the email it says if you are not satisfied, to return the email and put "Not Satisfied" in the subject box. I did and got another email within a few seconds that simply said call customer care at 877-237-6265. I returned that email and said I had already talked to customer care without satisfaction and if you want to talk to me you can call me.

Well I had to go to work, so I was left thinking "are they going to charge the $99.90? I got the call in about 30 minutes. It was Robert who was an American. He was very friendly and said my account would not be charged and I did not have to return the DVDs and my account would be closed. I thanked him and asked if he would send me an email to that effect and he said he would and he did. It seems the foreigners are paid to take all the heat and when it gets right down to the nitty gritty, the company man plays the nice guy and doesn't have to take any crap.
