I went to this store to purchase a Sony radio in the beginning of January. After the radio was installed I didn't like the sound of the radio. I had to put in more money for an additional subwoofer. The guy installed another radio for me. I didn't like this one either. So I got my original radio put back in had to pay an additional $35 for another harness wire to put my old Sony radio put back in. I am out of $175.00 simply because I didn't like the sound of the radios they installed in my car. I am on a fixed income and disabled. Also my kindle was stolen out of my holder and I had the kindle before I had them even start with my radio. There is no way anybody else couldve taken it because no one has had access to my car except the isntallers at the geek squad.

Basically I'm out of almost $300.00 worth of cash and possessions. I called best buy customer service to get a corporate number and a regional manager. They just gave me the runaround to the local store number. I repeatedly told her I wanted the corporate number but I still would get the number to this store. This is very frusturating getting my money back and to know they may have possibly stolen my Kindle in the process.

good grief

"I am on a fixed income and disabled" BUT you can spend hundreds of dollars on a stereo system and a kindle.  Hell I work for a living, am on a budget and can't afford a kindle much less a stereo system.  Get off the taxpayers payroll and GET A JOB!

Totally with Robert on this one.

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

I am SO sick of people including stuff like "I am on a fixed income and disabled," "I am a single mother," etc. That crap is totally irrelevant to complaints. Robert also has a good point about the fact that you might not want to be upgrading your car radio if money is tight; it ain't exactly a necessity. Nor is the subwoofer.

The Kindle theft definitely sucks though. Though again, unless the Kindle was a gift, it sounds like you had no business buying that either.

BTW, what is your disability?

- It is amazing how many people post about being on a fixed income and disabled.  It is like you think that those words automatically get you additional sympathy for their situation.  Well it might..if you were not installing a new stereo and subwoofer in your car.

Here is some advise for you.  If money is that tight perhaps you should be even more careful about what you buy.  You really didn't know what you wanted, they provided a service and you need to pay for it.  There is NO RipOff here..well at least on their part.

As for the theft of the Kindle, I agree with Ramjet.  That is a separate issue and the police are going to want to have a little more than they "probably" stole it.

Really?

AUTHOR: Ramjet - (U.S.A.)

Are you really saying that you should not have to pay for all the installations and un-installations that this required?  Let's see, that would be 3 un-installs and 3 installs including un-installing and installing your original radio.  All that because you didn't know what you wanted to begin with.  That's absolutely ridiculous and unreasonable!

As far as the charge of theft of your Kindle, that's a separate issue that you need to take up with the installers.  Can you prove it was in the car at least?  Even though you shouldn't have to, it's always a good idea to remove things like that when having work done.  You said - possibly stolen - that sounds pretty nebulous, was it stolen or not?  The police are not going to want to hear that it was stolen - uh maybe or possibly.
