For as long as I've been a Best Buy customer I've never been more upset or felt more cheated by a company than I do now.  I bought my laptop in 2010 when I needed a second one for business, still have the 1st one that's over 7 years old now. 

When I went into Best Buy in Levittown, NY in 2010 I asked specifics about the laptop and possible problems and ofcourse there was nothing except it doesn't run as fast as this one or doesn't have this like that laptop does. 

Fast forward, now that laptop that I bought in 2010 seems to have a crashed drive and the reasons from Geek Squard pours out, "oh laptops are meant to run at a certain speed and if in sleep mode it can eventually do this or that to your laptop" the reasons were numerous from this guy and his manager.  Fine I don't know that much about it to second guess.

Two weeks ago Geek Squad remotely logged into my laptop because I was experiencing problems updating the virus software, then the representative stated doing other windows updates.  Ever since then my laptop has taken longer and longer to start up and now all I get is a black screen.

I tried to explain this to the guys at Best Buy in Levittown and when they were done pricing it out I would have to pay almost $400 to get this problem fixed and all my data back.  No consideration to the fact that they themselves may have caused this problem what so ever.

Needless to say I was given the run around and it seems to me that they screwed up my laptop and now I have to pay them for screwing it up, how in the world is this legal.

Never again will I buy another laptop from Best Buy, if this is the customer service that they're giving, then I'll spend my hard earn money elsewhere.  Shopping around I found a better price at Micro Center and would highly recommend this place over Best Buy for all computer needs.

Best Buy is no longer the consumer friendly place it once was, especially this Levittown location, and it will be cold day in hell before I buy another laptop, computer, tv, gaming system or anything electronic from them again.

I strongly recommend not buying from this company unless you want to be ripped off in a couple of years.  If you're in the Long Island, NY are try Micro Center or Executive Computer World, not as big as Buy Buy more of a worthwhile investment in the long run.

 ON 06/04/2013 took my computer to BEST BUY for DATA RECOVERY since i upgraded from XP TO WINDOW 7 and didnt back up my QUICK BOOK files so i lost it all info on it.

agent said NO PROBLEM it is $250.00 and if we didnt recover ALL u only have to $100.00 and it will take about 10 days to 2 wks I said ok and paid. 10days later got a call from GEEK SQUAD or i should say THIF SQUAD that they have to go to lavel 2 to retrive ALL and thats going to be $259.00 more, I ask what is that and why i wasnt told that before?

i had nochoice so i $259.00 then he said it will take about 3-4 weeks and if i want to exepidte then it will be $150.00 more (NO CHOICE) so i paid.

i got an other call that it is ready BUT they have to put it on FLASH DRIVE and thats an other $79.00 si i paid again NOW LESTEN TO THIS went to best buy so i could get my computer back. They gave a BOX i asked what is this? he said thats your hard drive. i SAID u need to put it back in my computer, HE SAID  THATS GOING TO BE $100.00

at this time i used a F U word and walked out called mgr and he talked to them went back to store and they put it back in with NO CHARGE

TOTAL DATA WAS NOT RECOVERED only up to aug of 2012 which i had that on my USB

SO U TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO? I WANT TO FIND A FEW PEPOLE AND I WANT TO SUE best buy
