Best Buy/Geek Squad Appliance Warranty RIPOFF RICHFIELD, Minnesota

Warning!  Be careful when purchasing an appliance from Best Buy and the extended warranty.  The warranty is actually serviced by Geek Squad (completely different company) who will try to NOT honor the service warranty.  The Geek Squad policy states "Appliances: In addition to the coverages for the products specifically listed in this subsection, this Plan also provides for the removal and installation of an appliance in the same location for service purposes provided that the appliance was delivered and/or installed by a Best Buy Authorized Servicer, Best Buy Authorized Installation Provider, or a Geek Squad Installation Technician as stated on the same purchase receipt as the purchase of this Plan." They will NOT honor or even void the policy if you did NOT have BEST BUY install and/or deliver the appliance.  In the case of a stack-able washer/dryer then you can NOT separate the appliance (by definition) or you will void the warranty.  The interpretation of voiding the warranty is not clear and is subjective depending upon which Geek Squad representative you may have working on your case.

It is fraudulent to sell the extended warranty and NOT disclose that if you do NOT make sure to pay Best Buy to deliver and/or install the appliance, then the partner company (Geek Squad) will charge extra or completely void the warranty.
