Best Price Cameras ripoff, bait and switch, fraudulent billing Brooklyn New York

On November 21, 2005 I ordered a black Sharp LC-37D4U HDTV-Ready LCD TV with side speakers priced at $1,949, and wanted none of the add ons such as the cable, insurance, and stand. I was told that I could expect delivery within 15 days.

After two weeks I was informed that my television was not in stock and was on back order. I complained that the company shoud not offer items for sale that they do not have and was told (by John) that if I would order the add ons, I would be able to get my TV. I felt as though I was being blackmailed, but agreed to buy the cable @ ($300) and the insurance @($350).

On delivery day, December 16, 2005 I was suprised to find out that the TV that arrived at my door was not the one I had ordered. It was a model LC-37D7, a silver TV with speakers on the bottom that will not fit the space I have constructed at some major expense. I was also suprised to see the price! It was $3,324.99, $725 more than I had agreed to. Needless to say, I refused delivery and sent the package back with the delivery guy.

I then called John at Best Price Cameras and was told that he decided to send me the model LC-37D7 because the other model was out of stock. He was totally indifferent to my complaints and his only response was, "if you return the TV. we will charge you a $1000 restocking fee. I asked to speak with his supervisor and John iformed me that he is the supervisor. I insisted that everyone has a supervisor and after 20 minutes he finally let me speak to his supervisor who was equally indifferent.

I immediately called my bank and filed a dispute claim to withhold payment.
