BestPricecamera .com - Zaki Saideh Owner ripoff My experience trying to purchase a Digital Camera from this Shady Company! Brooklyn New York

Oct. 5, 2006, I placed an online order with bestpricecamaras.com. I received an email to contact them to confirm this order.

My first concern was when they require your billing address to match the shipping address. Since I was shipping to a company address and not my cards billing address I was instructed to contact my credit card company and change my billing address.

Since I already own a prior model of this camera, I did not need any additional equipment such as batteries, chargers, cards, etc.

When the operator from Best Price Cameras realized he was not going to be able to sell me the overpriced accessories, he became rude. My thoughts were that he needed to prevent me from purchasing the camera.

The cost of this camera at any other store, that is not a Gray Market Camera is $995.00, the price at the time I put it in my cart I beleive was about 479.00.

One of the comments I remember him making was "Well good luck getting this camera to work, without firmware." He said I would not be able to get any firmware for this camera so I would not be able to take any pictures.

I don't know enough about that end of the camera, so I asked how long I had to cancel this order. He said I would have to cancel it right now if I wanted to cancel it. I immediately canceled it and requested he destroy my credit card information.

Fast forward to now.....my credit card information has now be stolen. I have numerous charges on my credit card, which my CC company noticed and put my card on hold. When I attempted to make a purchase today my card was declined due to the hold, although I am grateful for the CC Company's diligence in noticing this.

I have instructed Visa to start with an investigation of this company as it would seem the most likely suspect.
