2014 has led me into my 1st ever scam! You read about and you think “poor people or what dummies- how did they not see that (scam) coming?!” I guess I am between the “poor person and what a dummy range- LOL! I think my humor and my resounding faith that GOOD WILL TRUMP EVIL has gotten me past the exact week of this scam.
A little background to this scam- January 7, 2014 I placed a WTB (Want to Buy) Ad on Craigslist- Yes, this is where the needle takes me closer to the “What a dummy” level- for Duke Basketball tickets! I am a huge Duke B-ball fan (since a really young age) and I decided 2014 is the year I’m clearing this “bucket list” of seeing my FAVORITE team play in Cameron.

Fast forward to January 8, 2014, mid morning time, I get an email from Tammy Lam-
Aka Craigslist user: a162f4f7c69c30ca82c96d08ffcb487e@reply.craigslist.org stating the following:
“Hi,
I saw your ad looking for tickets to a Duke game. Let me know if you are still looking. I have some I am trying to sale.
Thanks
Tammy”

If I had psychic vision/knowledge I would have ignored this roach but alas there were numerous exchanges, which I’ll post all the exchanges at the end of this rant, that led this individual to quote price and section of the game that I was wishing to attend. The price seemed like a fair one but to pay everything immediately- Well that wasn’t an option! So a few more emails were exchanged and supportive words and assurances were made to lead me to place a $150, of the $700 total for the tickets, “hold” and pay the remainder at the end of the month. Yep, the needle is going even more close to the “what a dummy” level!

No gut feelings of uneasiness or red flags were buzzing around in my head- Heck, this roach was selling what would have been THE BEST TRIP EVER and was helping me fulfill my bucket list for me and my sis!
Fast forward to sending the money via Amazon webpay and feeling like I had just won the lottery! In my head, I was closer to seeing “my boys” play live- I got a little emotional! I can’t explain how much this trip would mean to me- I kept pinching myself!

Fast forward even more to getting ready for bed and then- BAM! I was hit with the most AWFUL dream that night! In my dream, I was crying like someone had died- my sis was crying in the dream, too! All I remembered when I awoke at 4am is something about tickets! I didn’t quite understand it all but I felt this urging to check the email I was given to send the $150 to “hold” our Duke tickets. When I did the Google search, my heart shattered in a million pieces- this roach had its own “Ripoff page” http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/directory/tammy-lam

My first instinct was to beat “myself up” with the ‘whys’- Why didn’t I take the time to check the email before I sent the $150? Why didn’t I wait a day to search more? Why did I believe this Roach?

I went from that emotion to contacting this Roach thinking that there could be a better explanation- I soon found out that I was dealing with seasoned con artist Roach! Sickening! I pleaded for a return of my money- hoping that there was a heart to this pest! I was showered with lies that the money would be returned! No such thing happened- I spent 6 days waiting for the return of the $150! I was told by this Roach the transaction was reversed and reimbursement was initiated.

Sadly, for this Roach I was in contact with reps from Amazon that stated the opposite- no refund transaction had taken place!
Fast forward to why I am on here- The positive of this is I “lost” $150 and not $700! I realize this Roach has ripped off numerous people for wayyyyy more than what was taken for me- I am grateful for my dream! I felt like God stepped in and blocked a great mess!

The amount of lies that came from this Roach’s mouth is historic! I’m sickened that there are individuals that prey on individual’s excitement and love of a team/sport/event! I’m sickened that this Roach has no soul or heart! I’m not sure this will put a stop to this Roach’s madness but maybe 150 friends can pass the details to 150 more friends, and keep passing 150 more to bombard the emails and craigslist account of this roach- ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

I never once cussed at this individual- I came close! I’m not gonna lie- I’m human!

I’m just reminded that life comes full circle! You can’t prey and prey on individuals and not be caught! Good trumps Evil- RIGHT?! So, this is a little “hiccup” in the road but it won’t kill my dream/bucket list to see Duke play in Cameron this year- 2014!!!

WOW, I am SUPER speechless!!! You have made my DAY- heck, my year! I'm stupid not to purchase these tickets, right now, but my sis doesn't get paid till 1/31. Sadly, I can't purchase both tickets, right now :-( Would we do this transaction through Paypal and then have you mail out the tickets to me? I think we can work something out so you have these tickets. Can you pay for one now? I take payments through amazon webpay. I can email you an invoice. What I can do is hold the tickets for you if you can pay for one now and then mail out after the second ticket is paid for. I ship through fedex and you would have the tickets in a couple days after the final payment. I know what its like to be short on cash, so I am willing to work with people. Let me know what game you want and we can work this out. I don't believe in charging 4 and 5 times the price for tickets. I try and stay reasonable and with that I get return customers. Let me know.

Until, I get a hold of my sister, which I have been texting her like MAD right now to call me ASAP, all I have is about $150 to put towards it. I know, I suck- I'm waiting to hear from her and maybe we can put something together to purchase one of the tickets!

This is the first I have seen of this. I took a look at all three links. I have not done business in Florida. I just started my business on the side the first of this year. I am located in Petersburg Mi. I assure you will have tickets if you let me sell them to you.
I'm just someone that started a side business because I too like to go to concerts and games and I don't want people to have to pay the outrageous prices. I hooked up with some brokers in the exchange and I can get some good deals. I did my homework with this whole thing before I opened my business. I am sorry you feel this way, but I understand why you would with seeing that.

Sorry, the tickets are pulled from the broker exchange with ticket evolution and are mailed direct to you from there. Thats how it works with brokers using the exchange.

Quick question? This morning, I was told by an Amazon rep that the $150 was claimed immediately on 1/8/14... Did that amount ever reach your bank account? Also, I was told that as soon as a refund is initiated there is confirmation of that initiation sent to my webpay account and email. Plus, the refund only takes a full day I have not received such confirmation. So, what's the story now? :-/
