SEO Reputation Management at its best!

It began by watching an infomercial on local tv here in Tennessee. The infomercial showed a variety of people that have supposedly had "huge" success from taking the Better Trades 2 day seminar. Funny enough one of those so called customers by the name of Dale Zamzow was featured as a former "teacher" that literally became rich from the course. Well, Dale just happened to be my instructor! After going back and watching the infomercial again i noted that several of those so called customers were actually Better Trades instructors! For all we know the entire lineup of clients used on the infomercial may actually work for BT. I noticed Markay Latimer and Dale Zamzow. The third person i believe was Shawn (last name unknown) and if this is true, Shawn is the customer service/tech support person in charge. This company puts on a great show to get people to sign up by using a very, very flambouyant speaker/presentation giver that waits until the last minute to tell you the cost is $3,000! They talk a good game and really talk up their customer service dept and talk about how nice and friendly and how they go out of their way to help. I heard from SEVERAL students that went through the course when i did how extremely rude one of the reps in particular by the name of Marilyn is. Well i had never spoken to her until Friday Sept. 1, 2006. I found out exactly how rude she was. After asking her what should have been a very simple question, she couldn't answer it nor did she try to find the answer. Instead she tells me to just "chock it up as a mistake in the book and just use the number 3" (referring to a question about what number should be used for a certain formula). I told her i refuse to take that as an answer and that's when she got smart with me. OF COURSE this led to me cursing her out because i am NOT THE ONE to take a screwing over easily. I told her for $3,000 she better find the answer! Word of advice is these presenters flat out lie to potential customers by telling them that you have the chance to earn your money back the 2nd day in class. In fact this is NOWHERE close to being the truth. THEY...THEMSELVES...place trades but never help you. Dale actually bragged about how much money he made on each trade and i finally stood up and said "YOU, made the money,Not us!" I demanded them to put me in touch with the CEO Freddie Ricks which they did. I totally went off on this guy about the fraudulent bs they fed people including one lady that was in tears because it was her entire savings. She found out at the seminar the next day that she would need almost another $6,000 in order to have all the "tools"! Just about EVERYONE attending was upset. I became personally close with one of their Traveling Enrollment Counselors and found out a bunch of deceiving scripts they tell potential clients. What Better Trades did not expect was to have someone in the paid seminar that was close friends not only with the top brass at the Attorney General's office in Tennessee. Nor did they expect me to have close friends at one of the top litigating law firms in the U.S. which secured the largest settlement from a company in U.S. history. They followed that up with several more blockbuster settlements. What REALLY ticked me off was they knew the info on the DVD's and Cd's was incorrect and so did their students. BT decided instead of correcting their screw up they would charge their clients (over $100 from what i last heard) to get updated material. In other words WE have to pay them because THEY made mistakes on the Dvd's! They also have a person by the name of Shawn that visits this website to rebuttal claims against BT. I have been told he visits and acts like he is a everyday person just responding to claims against them. I hope he's reading this one! That way he will know his staff pissed off the wrong client! One with a backbone and one that hates con men! They thought giving me software for a year would make me happy. WRONG! I personally intend on bringing this company down to it's knees until the doors of their offices close! I am planning on contacting and possibly subpoening clients and past clients to ask them about their feelings and if they would like to join me in a huge and our own blockbuster law suit against BT. This is a quote from the firm's site:

"In May 2002, he was featured in Ebony magazine as one of the ?100 Most Influential Black Americans.? Forbes Magazine has listed him as one of the ?Top 50 attorneys in the U.S.?

Gary has been featured in national media publications, such as The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Globe, Ebony, Jet, People, Black Enterprise, Fortune, The New Yorker and The National Law Journal.

His remarkable legal career and tireless work on behalf of his clients has been well documented on ?60 Minutes,? ?CBS Evening News,? and ABC's ?World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.?

He has also been profiled on ?Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,? made a guest appearance on ?The Oprah Winfrey Show,? and made a live appearance on CBS's ?The Early Show? with Bryant Gumbel."

I will be updating this Sept 14th after doing more research. I have a lot more info to post including other students i have found. I have more info that i may or may not release depending on the legal advice i am given. You know...MAYBE the intentions were good at one time with this company but it's obvious MONEY and GREED has taken over when you tell past customers you screwed up on the dvd'd will STILL cost over $100, then there are going to be problems. If you are a Better Trades customer and would like to get a FULL blown info pack about BT or would like to sign a petition AND/OR become a part of a lawsuit against them, file a Rip-off Report. We will be in contact with this website.

Shawn Smith pulled the EXACT SAME STUNT with me!!

AUTHOR: Kate409 - (USA)

I registered for the seminars on October 4th. I paid $350.25 via Credit Card and when I showed up for the seminar, they told me that no such thing existed at the address I was given. The company STILL has not responded to my emails. I am completely outrated.

FREE MONEY!

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

oK I have your attention.
You all went to the seminar when you thought the money was free and easy!

Then you learned that Better Trades wanted to sell you more tools. Several thousand dollars! How American, Give me all these riches but dont dare charge to teach me!! I admit when I heard for the first time that the "extra training material" cost more money, I had to think about it for a while. However, since making that choice and buying several of those expensive tools, I have learned more about options, stocks, trading, and World economies than I ever learned in the first 44 years of my life. My ten year old now understands how to make money when the market is going down. Oh yea and I made many thousands of dollars in the first 3 months of trading. I made $1,700 this morning in 10 minutes. Yes ,I have lost money also. Mostly by not following simple rules and getting greedy,....just like the guy making this complaint!! Come on Lorenzo~
I have made close to $100 K with Better Trades

Lorenzo, this is not for everybody. It takes practice, discipline and a little patience. I am very impressed with Better Trades. The coaches. Especially Dale Zimzow and Markay Latimer, and Darlene Nelson. I have purchased strategies from each. I have paid for them in less then 20 minutes in most cases. I just spent three days in Orlando with Jimmy Jones, Thurman Thomas and others as guest speakers and learned a ton on new strategies.

Lorenzo It is ok to get upset but maybe you would rather study and make some money!!!! I am.

Rob from Atlanta.

If they are successful, why are they at the seminar

AUTHOR: Bob J - (U.S.A.)

I think it's strange that the people in the infomercial, you know, the ones "claiming" they have made a ton of money off of the BetterTrades program, are at the seminar. Isn't this a two day seminar? If you make $120,000 dollars in the last six months from this plan, why do you need to be a the seminar again, six months later. Something fishy going on here.

Beware of other companies

AUTHOR: Michelle K - (U.S.A.)

I went to one of their events this year and was blown away that people were actually falling for this crap! I had forgotten all about them until the other day when I was on vacation and saw their cheese-ball infomercial.

Beware other companies these scam artists do business as too! Just search around the internet for their parent company "Long Term Short Term" which is almost always in their copyrights and legal forms. I have already found them disguising as a marketing company called " CodeReady Solutions ". I guess they've become so good at selling garbage they want to help others do the same?

If you want evidence of guilt just look at search results for bettertrades. This report shows up, along with a ton of other bettertrades owned websites. Seems to me like they're trying to dilute search results to keep people from reading about the scam they really are! If you try searching for reviews about them all you get is their regurgitated BS for every result.

I encourage people to contribute to sites such as this to keep the real story about this company available. I applaud rip off report for the service they provide to keep people's wallets safe. So if you have something to contribute about them, say so!

Lastly, my brother saw their infomercial too. He works for a marketing company (a real one, not like code ready solutions!) and suggested I link to rip off report to help keep them in business. You bet I will!

An Empty-Headed Tirade

AUTHOR: Warley - (U.S.A.)

I was checking this company (BT) out and I am not one of their customers. Don't know if I will ever be. But I had to respond to these postings after I read them. The immense hostility that this person felt towards this company was because 1. one of the women advisors was rude to him and refused to answer a question 2. some information in one of the CD's was not accurate. These were his complaints and for these "fraudulant" practices he pledges to rip this company apart? Excuse me? When this woman (pms driven?) gives him an answer to his question, he refuses to accept the answer, becomes indignent, and then is surprised and upset when she "gets smart" with him. Then he makes a truly rude and threatening responses about how 'for the money he was paying for this course she had BETTER come up with the answer'. This guy is just a true jerk. He's a tornado looking for a place to land. And WHAT pray tell, is so wrong with having the same three people answer the phones when you call the company's telephone number? Why is someone supposed to be so upset about that? Did the company represent themselves as having an army of customer service reps? From your posting the appear to be a small group of people who may wear more than one hat and who are in the business of training people to trade better? Should they be something else? I wouldn't imagine that people who have that knowledge to teach would be a dime a dozen. Why shouldn't the company put on a great show telling you all about what they do? Why shouldn't they wait until they've told you all about it to tell you what the cost is? Do you pay for updates to your software that corrects all the features that didn't work well and eliminates all the bugs of the last version? Of course you do. This is a crime?
This company is supposed to teach you how to trade better. If they tell you that you have a CHANCE to earn your money back the second day, then excuse me, is that is a promise?? If you were paying attention and they taught you anything at all and that knowledge enabled successful trading maybe you would earn that money. Who could ever GUARANTEE that you would listen, understand, and retain information and successfully use it? They did promise to TEACH you. If your complaint was there was no teaching or about the errors of what they were teaching then you would have something real to complain about. I see nothing in this whole tirade that constitutes anything remotely resembling a representation of a fraud of any kind. I do hear a great deal of emotional posturing. The company promises to teach you how to trade better. If there is a problem that they are NOT teaching you or with WHAT they are teaching you, then, be specific, let's hear it. This guy appears to be a thug looking for a reason to pull out his pistols and shoot up the bar and start a riot. He personally intends getting out all of his biggest cannons (his is BIGGER THAN YOUR'S, busther!) and "bringing this company down to it's knees until the doors of their offices close". He knows the biggest hired guns and he's not going to just shoot this company, he's going to nuke them. And I repeat, for what?
Gimme something real, something dispassionatly demonstrated to be criminal in some way and I'll understand and agree with you but this rant looks like an unstable personality with a trigger finger that's itching for a target. If they have "decieving scripts" let's here what specifically is the deception. They agreed to teach you how to make better trades. Don't like the price? If you believed you had that valuable knowledge, how much would you charge to teach people to do it (and to put up with asses like you)? And if you wanted to learn something like how to trade better where else would you go? (Don't go to business school, that's not what you learn there.)
Obviously some people are going to "get" all that is being taught in any setting more than other people. All instruction is like that. I don't know anything special about BT and I repeat, I am not their customer. I have listened to their sales pitch and talked to people that also did. But what I don't like about this letter is that it offends me because it is empty of what it purports to hold, that is, some true evidence of a fraud by a company that it lambasts. Many company's would sue you for libel in throwing around unsubstantiated and foundationless slurs about it. There are no real issues just mean spiritedness and a violent temperment. Do not accuse me of being someone who works for this company or owns it or whatever. I have no link to them at all. It's your empty-headed tirade and your nastiness and destructiveness that makes me respond at all.

Legit Sources Say: Half the positive rebuttals here are Better Trades (BetterTrades) EMPLOYEES... TOLD to try and resolve these issues. I know some people that know some people, and i know that they are told to try and conceal the truth and confuse the consumers and people reading these threads... BEWARE of the rebuttals and posts on here that mention this company in "good light" because it just further demonstrates how they only care about themselves even after a good portion of the public can honestly and openly say how much crap these people are trying to smear us with and out WALLETS! TRUTH BE TOLD!

I think Lorenzo over-reacts

AUTHOR: J-dub - (U.S.A.)

Strangely enough I THINK I remember Lorenzo from my very first Better Trades class - and if it's the same guy I remember at the time him telling me that Freddie "owed him" some favors. But he also told me he was making some money with BT. So go figure. With that said:

I have a completely different opinion of BT. In general I feel if someone wants to find the bad in a situation they can certainly do it. But likewise there's good to be found too. I', very grateful to BT because they've taught me things about the stock market that I didn't know before - things I WANTED to know. I've been to several seminars and I believe at the moment Better Trades is the best available. I'm thankful that they take the time to actually teach us stuff. Sure, they make some money too, but frankly the $3000 I spent was certainly $3000 worth of information - customer support or not.

I find it interesting that some people are just sorry lazy people - and frankly Lorenzo may be one of them. I have a friend who went to the BT class with me once when I did a re-take. Funny, he showed up late, left early, and spent as much time in the bathroom as he did with his butt in the seat. Now, 8 months later he's complaining saying Better Trades didn't do their part. Well my friend barely went to class, never watched the DVDs at home, never took a re-take, and never even bothered to try to place one VIRTUAL TRADE! And he wants his money back. I don't think it's Better Trade's fault. I think it's my friend's fault.

I also think people should know the seminar/education business is what it is - it's people sharing their experience and teaching what they know. But no educational company is going to do the work for you. If you're that lazy just move to Europe and become a socialist. But the beauty of America is we have the freedom to make the most of opportunity. I personally feel Better Trades gave me a great opportunity to learn and I will always be thankful for everyone there. I hope they are making money - I hope they're making sick amounts of money because they've helped me make money. No, never once have they placed a trade for me or transferred money into my account, but they taught me some invaluable stuff. And for that I'm never going to regret spending $3000 (Which by the way I actually spent $4500 because I took my wife with me who has never used it at all)

Geez Lorenzo are you Bi-polar or Brainwashed

AUTHOR: Julie - (U.S.A.)

I think you had a real valid argument & was committed to achieving it... A few days later you are sweet talked & some money gets refunded & all of a sudden you are peaches & cream? If I had of know How to read a rebuttal before posting my own I wouldn't have bothered. Sounds to me like you sold out, did they feed you the words while you typed or did they send you a copy to post? Did you even have a team of Lawyers? Guess I will have to Form my own. I know plenty of BT students who will gladly join me....& until now I have only defended BT when speaking to my friends. I think I even remember seeing you around Lorenzo... are you STILL a student? The answer will speak for itself

Better Trades is the best.

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

I've been with Better Trades since June 2005, as a consumer only and am in no way employed by them nor have I ever been. I AM happy with Better Trades!

I've been reading the various comments posted by many different disgruntled people and it seems to me that people don't hear what is actually said at the free seminar. They hear what they want to believe. One person wanted to attend the class, THEN get a refund. He wanted the 3 day right to cancel to extend until after the class. Why would Better Trades or ANY business owner allow you to attend a class for nothing? That way everyone could get a refund, then use the material learned to make money! If someone doesn't understand the money-back guarantee, they shouldn't sign up. It's that simple That guarantee IS legitamite. I personally know people who have received a refund without fighting with the company for it. To get the refund, just follow the guidelines presented. These guidelines are presented to you BEFORE you ever handed over your $2,995 for the course. If you can't understand that much, how on earth will you understand the complexities of trading stocks and options?????

One other person "logically" concluded that happy Better Trades customers wouldn't come here and make rebuttals defending the company -- that only people working FOR the company would do so to diffuse the angry writings. I'm here to tell you, that's faulty logic. That may be true in YOUR MIND, but not in reality. I google searched Better Trades just out of curiosity and came to this site. I'm here unpaid and unsolicited by Better Trades.

I've made money. I've lost money. To date, I've lost more than I've made but am finally starting to make it back due to the strategies I've learned through Better Trades. I've spent a lot of money with them, more than I care to think about. You know what? It was my choice! They didn't force me to or promise me anything. When you open a brokerage account to start trading, they let you know options are risky. That's no secret. If you overlook that, it's your fault, no one else's. If you don't read the money-back guarantee or understand it, it's your fault, no one else's. I find a lot of people who get into trading don't understand the risk and need a scapegoat to blame when they lose money. Better Trades serves that purpose for these individuals.

I've dealt with Freddie Rick personally, over the phone, and found him to be honest and generous. I didn't ask him for anything when he called. He offered some free tools and I was more than happy to take him up on it. Now that I've found what works for me in trading, I'll continue making money and building up my nest egg. While I'm still in the red, that's the risk I took and I'm fully responsible, not the company.

I'm sorry for all the people who felt they were taken advantage of and lied to by Better Trades. I went through the same preview and class as you did. Perhaps the difference between us is that I heard what was said, not what I wanted to hear. I knew it was hard work, not a get rich quick scheme, which is what many believe it to be and why many sign up.

To conclude: I'm happy I found Better Trades. It has made a positive difference in my life. I also paid for my 20 year old son to attend Market Essentials with me. You know what? I'd do it again.

I AM DUE REFUND ALSO

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

TO MR. FREDDIE RICKS,
Where is my refund? Based on the 3 day right to cancel, a person has the right to KNOW what they are cancelling which would not be revealed until they were in the CLASS much later. Only at the class does a person realize they've been deceived.
If you are really concerned about RIP-OFF report, you will not just pay people to retract their statements on RIP-OFF, you will avoid your pending Class Action. There is other ways besides RIP-OFF report to pool people together. Previous ripped-off students POOL through with the Editor of RIP-OFF REPORT.

Sure, I would TELL EVERYONE YOU PAID me IF you paid me....You had once mentioned that if I could retract my statement in RIP-OFF report that you would pay me, but then I couldn't retract it, as RIP-OFF report states facts and realizes there are payoffs and won't retract. So WHERE is my refund?

SETTLED AND TOTALLY SATISFIED WITH BT !!

AUTHOR: Lorenzo - (U.S.A.)

After speaking with Freddie Ricks himself today I have since concluded things to be settled and I'm happy, elated and more than content to call this entire episode a huge misunderstanding that is now understood. As we all know a business or company can can have a bad employee among them but it's what the company chooses to do with that bad one that will determine customer response.

It's not normal that the company CEO and owner calls you personally to find out what the issue is. This is what Mr. Ricks did though. He also took the time to get rid of the employee, make things right from the standpoint of making sure not only that i got what i paid for but went WAY and i mean WAY.... past that even.

A lot of what was said was incorrect information due to incorrect info given. As I have said...the employee is gone and i found out they were gone the first day it was reported (they investigated it during the first day I complained) and I was offered a complete refund as well as other things to apologize for. I guess the moral of the story is if the boss doesn't know what happens inside of his or her company and they are informed of it...we should wait to see the results.

Little did i know most of this would have been taken care of had it not been for a TOTAL email screw up! I will say this....I PERSONALLY WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND BETTER TRADES FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION IN THE WORLD OF OPTIONS TRADING!! I will be attempting to delete this entire original post and comment and hope others that read it before it is deleted understand it was written from a very angry perspective.

The Shawn Smith that you are referring to is the same person i am speaking of as well

AUTHOR: Lorenzo - (U.S.A.)

They incorporated as you know in Nevada. I'm not sure about your seminar but in ours they explain why Nevada is the best choice. For one Nevada doesn't reveal WHO actually owns or the people involved with ownership of the Corp. When they told us this in class i should have been leery. Think they had something to hide?? Hmmm. I plan on rounding up a good amount of "screwed" clients and then proceeding. By the way...i was contacted by another lady a while back because she knew i had contacts that could wipe this company's ass off the face of this earth! I declined to do anything back then several months ago because at that time i only had minor issues with them. Shawn Smith also portrays himself as another person on here and posts positive rebuttals for bad posts against BT. Since i posted here, i have had contact with a good amount of pissed off people. I can tell you that if they are thinking about coming to Tennessee ANYTIME soon it may be a BAAAAAD idea. We'll DEFINATELY be waiting and BOY what a shock they are about to receive. I am working on some things in my home state of Florida as well. I wish i had known all i had to do was look online to find out how to trade options and i could have saved three grand! Also, one of the things they do is with their accounting where it is set screw you out of the 72 hours. Hard to explain here but let's just say it's been noticed by some people "in the know". It's funny how one person...that Marilyn BITCH can piss off the wrong person and wind up bringing down the company she works for. I haven't heard the video games in the background but i do know no matter what number you call be it tech support or customer service you ALWAYS seem to get the same three people. Shawn Smith ACTS as if he gives a &^#%* when he could care less. I am going to make this my own personal project and research EVERYTHING about BT, it's clients, teachers, contract language etc. I WILL END THIS COMPANY'S RUN !! At best i will make damn sure they are PLASTERED all over the country in front of the media outlets. Let's put it this way...when i was told i would have to BUY the "update" of those SORRY ASS original dvd's that we paid so much for, i had already begun to get ticked off. When i received a call from Ricks in regards to another incident that happened with one of their enrollment counselors (Dorothy Stewert), whom i had a one time fling with, he was nice and friendly and willing to talk. When i sent him an email a few days later in regards to something else, i never heard back from him. That's been about 4 months ago. They claimed in the selling portion of the "free seminar" that ALL of the counselors,(and they mentioned them by name as they waved to the attendees which to me says they approve of what he is saying)were "great traders" was the exact words used. Well Dorothy said she could turn $500 of mine into $3,000 in two weeks. 6 months later the lady still had not even made a single trade! Why? My guess is because she didn't even know how! I would ask her questions that she should have known and she couldn't answer any of them. Well...i have people contacting me about being involved in a class action suit. I will decide this over the next week or two.BT best option (a play on words) was for them to have that &^%$#@ apologize personally for being as rude as she was last week! These people make money by doing seminars and selling classes and dvd's....NOT by trading options. I want financial proof where Markay made over a million and another over $600,000 AFTER going through BT. I feel i should not have to pay for this updated material being that the original material was WRONG to begin with. Tens of times Ricks would be talking about something and pointing at the overhead but yet WE as students watching a damn dvd couldn't see what the hell he was pointing at because the camera wasn't showing it!!! Then there were things that he said that were also incorrect either a definition or strategy. Almost a year has gone since i took the course and i have only called there TWICE for help. The first time Shawn Smith seemed as if he didn't care to help and the second time he didn't seem much better! This last time the only reason he was nice was because i was pissed and cursing!! If they had any idea about what i'm about to unleash on them mainly because of that %#@$ Marylyn!

Just write SUCKER on my forehead, 'cause DEBTOR TRADES got me, too

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

DEAR CONSUMER,

I was wary of BETTER TRADES as soon as I got into the FREE videos. Freddy was unbelievable, but the website videos were so pitifully unviewable. Unfortunately, I was past the 3 day deadline. I have disputed it with Discover and the Attorney General's Office in Maryland is going to "arbitrate" a claim for me under consumer protection.

Shawn Smith is the young man I dealt with on the phone. All I know is that he plays loud video computer games while he is talking to clients.

Funny, they have 3 different phone numbers and 2 different addresses listed, and their other office is in West Virginia.

What I object to is the inference of their staff presenters being "Godly" men and how the instructors weave Biblical principles into their investment practices.

I am willing to join you in your quest to put this company out of BAD business. I think I could add to your BT info pack and would like to have one.
