The gas companies are takeing advantage of us again & this ticks me off!. All because of these two hurricanes, they use any & every excuse to take advantage of us!.

I really have sympthany for the people of texas gas stations are asking the government If they can charge $5.00 theives!. Its almost $5.00 here In alabama It just sickens me to death!.

No wonder they are homeless people out there!. We was seeing some relief It was going down 10 cents every week know Its $4.30 a gallon. There Is no damange In alabama from the hurricane only sever thunderstorm.

Talk about your daily theives. Its no wonder people are going crazy & insane.

But they are really taken advantage of this time this Is why I am making this complaint today!.

You don't understand what price gouging means here.  The owner of any company can set the price of anything they chose at anytime at any price.  If they want tomorrow sell gasoline at $10/gallon then that is their business right.  Its up to the customer to decide if they want to continue to do business with a location that is selling gasoline at $10/gallon or so else where.

As for the price increase in a short time...its called supply and demand.  If you would have taken economics class in college you would understand that when lets say this.....

you have 10 people that drive 10 cars.  Each car holds a total of 2 gallons per car and each person fuels their cars only once a week.  The local gas station only holds on average in the tanks below the cement lot 10 gallons at anytime.  On a normal day, they only sell lets say 3 gallons of gasoline a day.  So the tanker truck has to deliver a few times a week to ensure that they have inventory to sell to those 10 people when they come to buy gasoline there.

Now lets say that in that area there is a wild fire coming their way and is expected to buy down this gas station and sadly its the only gas station for hundreds of miles.  So all 10 people know that they will need gas soon so they all run to the gas station to fill up their 2 gallon cars.

10 cars, each car can hold a total of 2 gallons...if they all get fuel at once they would buy a total of 20 gallons.  But wait...the gas station can only hold 10 gallons.  So now we have a problem.  Some folks won't be able to get gasoline now.  So this is where the law of supply and demand kick in...

The supply (bring 10 gallons of gasoline) and the demand (10 cars each needing 2 gallons per car or for a total of 20 gallons).  So what will happen?  The cost of the remaining available gasoline that the gas station has will increase.

This isn't price gouging per say if the store owner increases the price for a gallon of gasoline...its a by-product of customers willing and demanding that gas.

Lets look at it this way...when you go to an auction and you see something you like to buy and someone else sees the same thing.  Its called bidding...you are bidding against one another for the same item.  You keep attempting to outbid the other person so you can secure that item.  The same theory applies when gasoline is sold.  Everyone wants that same gas in those tanks right now...so you are trying to bid for that gas along with the other motorists at the same time.  If they is more drivers trying to buy the fuel at the same time...the price will go up.  The opposite is true when there is no one willing to buy...the price will drop in hopes that someone will be willing to buy it.

As for price gouging per say...the law states that price gouging occurs when the price on the pump is stated to be one thing but when you go and pay for that gasoline, the price is totally different.  OR....as in the case here in Wisconsin, price gouging can be claimed when the price is changed more than one in a 24-hour period.

I hope I cleared this up for you...

Oh yes, the reason for price differences are related to taxes, transportation costs and cost of the barrel of oil at the time the oil was processed.  Also your oil in Alabama comes from the gulf (southern pipeline) where folks north of Missouri...we get our oil from the oil fields of Alaska and Canada.  Note that these pipeline do not connect ever so a disruption in a pipeline will cause a major ripple effect since now oil or gasoline has to be moved via trucks to those locations...thus adding transportation costs onto the final pump price.

Big cat closed for good

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

Big cat closed for good they are no longer In business. They went up $4.30 a gallon for regular for no reason even before the hurricane started.

You see there greed got them closed down for good, the attorney general told the gas companies not to deliver gas to to stations who where price gouging.

Gas Is going down slowly know It Is $3.40 a gallon It should be $1.40 a gallon. But these gas companies are nothing but thieves.

Well $3.40 Is better then paying for $4.00 a gallon.

Attorney general of alabama Is set to punish gas stations for stealing from us

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

The attorney general of alabama Is set to punish gas station buy ordering gas companies not to deliver gas to the stations who are price gouging.

He told the gas companies to let the stations run out of gas, not all gas stations In alabama are closed only a few who Is $4.50 for regular.

Gas has dropped from $4.50 sense I wrote my complaint to $3.99 big cat Is still $4.05 soon they will be closed until they lower there gas @ a reasonable price.

I am fed up with this so are alot of other people. These gas companies just want to steal from us!.
